For those curious about the pattern Asanoha (Hemp Leaves). The Asanoha pattern is a very popular traditional pattern from Japan. It's based on a hexagon and looks like a hemp leaf. “Asa” means hemp and “ha” means leaf. The hemp plant is a fast-growing plant that produces a tall straight tree in as little as four months and its imagery is associated with growth and children's health. It can also represent protection from harm or evil spirits. This pattern has ‘no season’ and can be worn throughout the year.

I"m so impressed and can't wait to see where you go next with the panel! INSPIRING, MILES!!! You make it look deceptively easy. So much appreciation for your artisanship, carpentry, videography, candidness, and on and on and on.

I really enjoyed this through explanation of how to make this. I got here from watching your amazing guitar and guitar amp build with the Kumiko. I have always been interested in making these, and someday would like to take a stab at doing another guitar similar to the one you made in your video, but with different woods. I was wondering, have you tried to cut multiple strips on the table saw at the same time with the jig? It seems like multiple strips could be cut with that table saw jig to reduce the amount of time and work involved. Thank you again for this video. I'm going to try it after watching this. Great work!

Your first kumiko turned out fantastic Miles! I am so proud of you for pursuing your interests with such determination, and not being scared to try things that really challenge you. I know this project in particular took a lot of learning and patience and you built it with such care. I can't wait 'til everyone else gets to see the final project...epic!
