Fast and efficient in the right hands (I need more practice - watch the video) this well made grinder is almost the same as my corded model but with the freedom to move without worrying about the cord. Weight-wise it feels about the same as the old one too. Assembly is quick and easy and the guard position can be switched around instantly. The paddle switch as a good deal of control and is not tiring to use. The tool brakes quickly which is a good safety feature. Find on the Home Depot website by searching for this unique reference number, 315949272.

I'm still debating if the variable speed or the 6-in is better any idea? They are both the same price at the moment! I bought this shortly after my post. I LOVE IT. I use it at one speed, and so far I've had no problems, & the 6.0 battery lasts a long time. 👍👍
@PicRic

It depends largely on the applications you will you it for I would think. Do you need variable speed?

@@rightpassage the variable speed is the way to go unless your using your grinder for heavy for heavy duty work where you are removing large amounts of material. Otherwise you will be holding a massive grinder all the time for no reason. I know guys with both and they still use the small one 90% of the time for ergonomics.

You installed the nut upside down. The stepped shoulder or reduced diameter goes inside the grinding disc hub to center and secure it.
@PicRic
@PicRic 6 ай бұрын
That is not quite right though, is it? Err, emm ... Newt? The orientation of the flange nut depends on the thickness of the cutting/grinding disc. In this case, the thinner disc would spin loosely - dangerously - it the nut were fitted incorrectly. Having said that, you raise a very good point; make sure to install the flange nut over the spindle according to wheel thickness.
@holdernewtshesrearin5471
@holdernewtshesrearin5471 6 ай бұрын
@@PicRic - you're right. You do have to orient the nut differently to accommodate different types and thicknesses of the grinding disc used. It looked like a standard thickness disc you were using but apparently not. I stand corrected and shall punish myself for my insolence. Fairly but firmly.

@PicRic

I think it depends on the material you are cutting and the type of cutting disc and it applies throughout the range on most grinding and cutting tools. Having said that if you think it is faulty exchange it.

I bought an M18FSAGV115XPDB-0 Grinder yesterday, with a 5 Ah battery I immediately noticed that it has a problem, speed 5-4 turns the same. I used the tachometer to test the speeds and I have these numbers: 5 = 6800 rpm 4 = 6650 rpm 3 = 5980 rpm 2 = 4510 rpm 1 = 3580 rpm My question is why the low rpm in 5 gear, from 8500 rpm I have only 6800 rpm without disc. 20% is missing. Is this the behavior of a faulty unit?
@PicRic

@@gangs73rThug Several people have commented on similar findings. Variable factors may be the type of battery used and its state of charge or the material being cut and the disc used for the cutting. It might be worth contacting Milwaukee directly to get their input. Let us all know what they have to say.

thanks for this video, the variable speed is a $50 useless feature compared to the non-variable if you ask me. the difference being the slower speeds, but you're really not getting that much work done at that speed. it's like going from grinding to polishing at that point and should be switching to a sander or dremel.

I am a plumber ... Shit grinder I had 4 in 2 years on all of them the triger brock ( don't get me started on the shite m18 batteries over 10 died in 2 years)... Now Milwaukee says that they don't replace it anymore as I haven't registered the last replacement for warranty... I will sell all my 12 power tools Milwaukee and go back to makita (biggest mistake I ever did was moving from makita to Milwaukee DIYer tools )

I guess you are talking dollars there, Binge Fox?!? I don't tend to do price comparisons but if you are confident the product is the same then go for it. The last time I bought from Amazon I was promised the product the next day, then the day after, it arrived six days later only to be returned because I bought locally as I had a specific need. Thanks for your input.
