@@josieliftsthings True/ Spot on @ Keang Wooi Choo. It's called "belanja makan" (food treats). It is very common here that sometimes people just pay without even telling. We pay for someone whom we think is likeable or we deemed as a good guest. I think it's initially based on the Islam influence but it is so widespread now, that every Malaysians (muslim or non-muslim) do it when we feel someone deserve it. Bon voyage for your future travel. Do come again to Malaysia.

Honestly you’re the best so far hands down. People were friendly to you mostly because of how you are Josie - your friendliness, how you’re genuinely curious and not just for the camera, how you’re willing to try new things without passing any judgment or disgust even where most westerners are doing especially when they visit Asia. And with your personality no matter where you go local are going to love you

The one you had is my favorite. The next 3 all time favorites are: 1. Roti Telur Bawang (with egg and onion) 2. Roti Sardine 3. Roti Sarang Burung. It translate to Roti Bird Nest. But what it actually is is a roti cooked in a ring shape with 2 sunnyside up fried eggs in the center. The roti is cook with loads of butter. Its best eaten with a portion of mutton curry and dhal. 3.

My favorite would be Roti Telur Bawang banjir. There's another type of roti that's quite new and it was a big hit when it went viral a couple of years ago and it's called The Roti Canai Sarang Burung or Bird's Nest Roti Canai. My favorite drink would be Teh Tarik Halia(Ginger) to go with my Roti Telur Bawang Banjir. Enjoy your stay here and always be safe😷😁😷

The one you had with double semi boiled eggs was actually Roti Tsunami, not just normal Roti Banjir. Roti Banjir (flooded roti) is only roti with flooded gravy but tsunami is another level with the semi boiled eggs. I had once found these menu below in a small roadside restaurant in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan. These are their own interpretation of roti levels in the 'Disaster' theme.. hehe: - 1 level up of Roti Tsunami is Roti Puting Beliung (Tornado Roti). It is exactly like Roti Tsunami but 2 plain roti(s). - Another level up is Roti Taufan (Hurricane Roti). Still exactly like Roti Tsunami but instead of plain roti, its base is actually Roti Telur (Egg filled roti) - Then they have Roti Gempa Bumi (Earthquake roti). Using Roti Sardin as the base and flooded like Tsunami... haha

Sometimes I will order Teh Halia (Ginger tea, which is basically Teh Tarik+ Ginger) You should try it! 🤣 I love Roti Banana!, its the best when you eat it with a little sprinkle of sugar, you can ask for sugar on the side with your roti pisang(banana). I always enjoy my roti uncut and peeled by myself whilst eating then you can actually know whether the roti is cooked well and differentiate it from the soggy banjir version

Josie, the last roti you had is roti planta, it’s one of my favourites, it’s spread with decades old margarine brand called Planta. There are so many rotis and it’s down to the individual preference, mine is roti sardine and murtabak, etc.

YUM! Roti is the BEST. So delicious. I don’t think my favourite would be sardine though! But I love sweet murtabak 😍😍😂

Thats so yummy. Really mouthwatering, I prefer iced Teh tarik rather than Neslo. To me it's kind of too sweet. Anyway enjoy your stay in Malaysia. Come to National Park in Taman Negara, Jerantut Pahang. Experience the true nature.

I am 50 years old this year. Prata or canai in malaysia has been around since I was a kid. Lately food in malaysia is in the limelight after many foreign Utubers feature them in their vlog..fun to see that we , Asia are leading the world in terms of food and nothing special comes from the west, especially none of their talents. We have better talents here. Unfortunately we have ball lickers

The magic of Malaysian drinks is sweetened condensed milk. It's not the same if you just use milk and sugar. You can make regular tea or Nescafe or coffee or Milo and transform them to the Malaysian versions by adding sweetened condensed milk.

Do you know why they call tea tarik? It is because the tea is so hot so they need to pull it again & again till it cool.
