My Grandpa got me hooked on Sen-Sens when I was tiny (much to my Mom's dismay - non-licorice person)...next logical step was serious licorice and that was Swedish Salted. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it! Thanks, Zed.

I adore licorice and so trying salted variety was something I was eager to do, they are not common in the UK as it is in Scandinavia ~Peace~

Salted liquorice is a bit like marmite. People either love it or hate it. I'm a fan of both. 😊
@ZedoutdoorsАй бұрын
Indeed yes, alas Marmite is a no for me too :) ~Peace~

Ha, ha! I grew up with Dutch salted licorice which is called Drop. It's soooo good and kind of addictive. All the kids would do anything for it. You took me back, thanks. And thank you so much for all the wonderful work that you do on your channel. 👍 All the best from bonnie Scotland.

I tried normal Dutch licorice for the first time last year, chalk board I think it;s called, and it's honestly the nicest licorice I have ever tried, no doubt the salted variety takes getting used to! I sincerely appreciate the kind words and to hear you have enjoyed the videos, stay blessed ~Peace~
@wtoddmartin5388Ай бұрын
I like licorice, so I'm inspired to buy some myself.
@ZedoutdoorsАй бұрын
I like licorice too, the nicest i've tried so far is from the Netherlands ~Peace~

Ooh yes it’s good 👍 Love that reaction brother. Greetings from Norway
@ZedoutdoorsАй бұрын
Was this something you tried for the first time when moving to Norway? ~Peace~
@joaquimrasi682225 күн бұрын
Yes I tried it in Sweden, The Danish version also & ofcourse here in Norway. They all feel their one is best .... That's how all those Viking disputes started 😉🤣

It's either cold there, or that licorice has you breathing fire.

Both! :) ~Peace~

How different is it to Dutch salted liquorice? (Dubbel zout - or double salt) - my favourite.
@ZedoutdoorsАй бұрын
I've only had the normal Dutch licorice which btw is literally the nicest I have ever eaten, way better than the shop bought licorice in the UK ~Peace~

*OMG Zed!!!* Im salivating right now. I love this stuff. I grew up on it when I was a kid living in Denmark.

You can have my share next time lol :) ~Peace~

The first time I had salted licorice, it was double salt. It was very intense.

I love liquorice, but that looked a bit too heavy on the salt for me. It'd fair draw yer cheeks the gither. A wee bit of salt in food brings out the flavour, but oofyah... 😀
@ZedoutdoorsАй бұрын
I've since learnt that there are even saltier versions of licorice available, alas this was enough for me! ~Peace~

Good old salmiak :) Not actually salt (NaCl), but a salt - ammonium chloride ([NH₄]Cl). Or sal ammoniac as it used to be called. Next up, Zed tries hákarl, surströmming , lutefisk, durian...? There's a whole series of possibilities.
@ZedoutdoorsАй бұрын
From what I've been told about surströmming trying that may be my last ever video... ~Peace~
@debbiej.2168Ай бұрын
I was going to suggest fermented Greenland shark after your comment, but when I looked it up, I saw it was called hakarl.
