"If you want air-conditioning...sorry, no." All Dacias have a/c as a standard now. Say what you want about Dacias, but they are also cars that are needed. The people who buy these cars can't or won't spend more than 10k € on a car, and Dacia is offering them a new car for that price, with the most basic features available.

@@jrshaul I am a semi-professional (meaning it is not my main job) landscape photographer. I own a mk 2 Clio from 2007. And it is awesome: 1. It weights nothing, so you can get to places where most people can't. 2. It has an overbuilt chasis, after 14 years and 120 000km bushes and shocks are tight as new. 3. It is so cheap you don't care if you scratch it. 4. Nobody expects expensive stuff inside, literally left it with windows open overnight on a parking lot by mistake a few times, nobody cared, not a hair moved inside when I got to it in the morning. Has been to the Alps with it, been offroad in places most wouldn't dare. You can abuse it, it does not care, you don't care, because if something brakes, you go to a scrapyard and buy the part for 10€ or just order new for 30€. It has old and simple engine, it does not care what you put in it, some people pour in a vegetable oil and it runs (metaphorically, off course). It has a small engine and no BS turbo, actually runs 40mpg, not like modern 1l engines with real consumption of 30mpg. Plus it has LPG kit, so it costs even less to run.

Ok, take it as this. There, in Romania, my parents work 8 hours a day, 3 shift, in miserably conditions, and they get a wage of about 300$ a month. A child gets about 17$ a month to get food and school stuff (books, pencils, etc), so we are a poor country. On our roads, you switch lanes to evade a hole, and hit 2 others (And they are about 5-15 cm deep). You can't go 100 meters without getting shaked like a milkshake. In this case, you con't drive any car more expensive than that, because you would go to the repair shop every week, and pay a fortune to fix your car.

Just look at the sound controls on the steering column, first time I saw that I thought it's a home-made DIY addition - it's literally a SQUARE BOX with buttons glued next to the steering wheel. Like Suhov said, it's a F4R engine: 2.0 16v. 95% of the car in brazil are flex fuel (runs on petrol and ethanol) due to taxes discounts, so on ethanol it brings 150hp! They changed the suspension (dampers, antiroll bars and made a structural reiforcement), brakes, have a slightly better cooling system and a very agressive 6 gears transmission.

The 1.2 16valve engine fitted to this car dates from the late 90s so back in its day 48mpg was pretty decent. The Sandero has since had a facelift (I have a facelifted one) the base spec now comes with a Nissan derived 1litre 3 cylinder unit. Cool fact the 900cc turbo engine fitted to my sandero was co developed by The Mercedes and Renualt F1 teams and features such things as graphite piston skirts and bore spray technology. Both new engines are very efficient too the 1 litre manages 54mpg and the 900cc turbo I have had 60-65mpg out of it.

You are not fair guys ! Usually, you show almost a full-option car and now you present the cheapest version of Sandero. This is a good car especially for Romanians and it's also sold in other top countries like Germany. The new Sandero has automatic gearbox, front daylights with LED and many other 'essential' options in stock; and yes, it is cheap, but you get the maximum quality of the product for this amount of money. What's more, Dacia isn't a car designed for high-performance or luxury, but it is a very economical car and very easy to maintain. The traditional slogan for the car is "Dacia, it transforms drivers into engineers from 1966". I hope you got the point :) Have a nice day!

The Dacia Sandero is the type of car where you're forced to make a decision: Buying a bare-bones new car for little money or buying a better equiped but older and used car for the same money. And you can get decent cars with proper features and not too many kilometers easily for under 10.000 Euros. I'd buy this as the first car for my children (if I had any): Safe, reliable, no distracting gimmicks, not very expensive and certainly not capable of 200 km/h or 0-100 in three seconds. Sure, they'd hate me for not buying them a Mini, but I'd be more comfortable knowing that they're driving a car that can take a dent or two, not lose half its worth in a year and not be used for racing on the Autobahn.
@shenghan9385

If you don't buy your kids a car capable of 200+kms, he or she would be so eager to drive crazily once they have the chance to do so while not having the necessary experience to control the machine. Just a thought. And I am sure you don't know much about speed and acceleration. 0 to 100 kms/h in 3 seconds is very difficult whilst going up to 200kms/h is very normal deal with most cars. Almost every car with 6 cylinders can go up to 200kms/h and many 4 cylinder ones can do that too without too much effort. So you are saying you will only get your kids some half ass car with less than 4 cylinders?

Used. Definitely used. I know when something's fishy. I'm 5 for 5 so far. All my cars have been 2nd hand and neither of them had any major problems. My last one, a 2009 1.4l Kia Cee'd had a bit of rust on the breaks because it sat for a while so you could feel a bit of a trepidation but some sandpaper fixed it quickly. Also, the clutch was making a weird squeaky noise so we decided to replace it. All in, with the clutch, filters, oil, registration, insurance etc we spent 3000 euros. And believe me when I say it's SO much better than a basic new Dacia. I could've bought a newer model but cars above 2010 are generally not nearly as reliable as older one. They're made to break. I would honestly prefer my Kia over a fully loaded Dacia just because they don't feel right. They just feel weird to drive. And they're built cheaply, I've got more metal in my PC than Dacias have in their body. And most of the engines are really forced. I mean almost 100 HP out of a 0.9l engine? That can't be reliable. Their only actually good and reliable engine is the 1.5 dci. At least the one on the 2010 models, I don't know about the newer ones. They drive the same, but I don't know if they're as reliable. By the way, this is coming from someone who learned to drive on Dacias. I've driven all kinds. They're everywhere. I still don't like any of them. I'm a car guy who can't afford sports cars so I put reliability first, then performance and then comfort. The the Kia delivers on all of them. Really reliable, performs great, it's relatively quick and it's surprisingly good through the corners, it was great going up and down the Transfăgărășan and it's fully loaded so comfort is good too. All for 3000 euros and a couple of scratches on the body because... It was driven by a woman. She literally had a paint marker in the armrest... It's still there...

Well, that car just died on me (hydraulic problem, repair would have been 3 times its current value) and after swearing heartily I changed my budget around and was able to make room for a sandero. Just signed the leasing contract, in 1 to 2 weeks it'll be mine. As time is pressing - I need a car - I had to take what they had, which is the upper luxury version (Celebration TCe 90) for 14500 Swiss Franks instead of 10000 - but still, here in Switzerland that's a laughably low price for a car with airbags all around, satnav, rear driving camera, parking aid, A/C, emergency breaking aid (whatever that's exactly called in English) and some other alphabet stuff. And all-year tires. Thank you, Dacia! :-D

The latest version comes with renewed optics, a 3-cylinder turbo 75 HP engine that has better gas mileage, and painted bumpers. The two main reasons for this car's bad mileage are its aerodynamics (lots of room under the car means more turbulences) and a rather short 3rd gear - which allows it to make the most out of its 6000rpm engine, at the cost of increased gas consumption but much more comfortable street/small road drives. You''re supposed to hit 100km/h in 12.5s with this car. Equivalent Clio with the same engine from the same year would actually be slightly slower due to added weight and longer gears.

Yeah, in 2017, you had the basic model of Dacia Sandero, without AC and other stuff. But since then, they improved a lot all the cars made by DACIA in Romania (Logan, Sandero, Duster, etc.), so they had various options and utilities (Stepway, LPG, AC, automatic/ robotic gearbox, MediaNav, Bluetooth/Phone integrated, off-road SUV for Duster, etc.), including facelift (they look like the german cars). I bought last month a new 2020 Dacia Logan car (the cheapest and most accessible car from Dacia) with £6,000 and I was quite impressed that it has all those stuff, including the general facelift and by its performances (low fuel consumption, low taxes and insurances, 10 years warranty, etc). And they announced that in 2021 they will release a new and better facelift for all the cars and Dacia Spring - the cheapest electric car in Europe (price above 14- 15000 euros). So, we have to wait and to expect them to surprise us. ;)

Going to get my drivers license soon. First thought about getting a Renault Twizy, but I don’t want to rent the battery for 50€ a month and buying the battery would cost 8000€+7.500€ for the Car itself. The “New Dacia Sandero” which comes out in January next year has an AMAZING interior and exterior for the price. The motor isn’t bad either. The price?8000€ 2000€ more than the old Sandero, but it’s essentially an updated Sandero with today’s standards.

48 mpg is quite efficient for petrol cars. I have the 2014 1.2 litre and I’m getting 54 mpg. The diesel version gets 78 mpg. The Sandero is a great car to drive, wouldn’t fault it in any way.

I bought my first car a year ago. It’s a Peugeot 307 from 2004. I bought that one to learn how to drive and stuff. I’m planning to buy the Dacia in the near future. A newer version and the Ambiance got my attention. I love the designs of these cars. My girlfriend has a Dacia as well. It’s her dad’s car but they love it. And it lasts long without broken parts or anything. They got the car for over 10 years now and it was also €8000 at the time. I hear many good things about this brand so i’m actually wondered why there aren’t many people actually buying it. I feel scepticism. ;)

There is a certain charm to cheap basic equipment specially vehicles, look at modern Lada offerings, they are really cheap but they got character, yes the interior is plastic but its the kind of good plastic, its thick and its just designed to be robust. Sandero is a lot like a Lada except it meets European emission requirements.

I'm form Romania, my dad has a sandero stepway (the "offroad" version of the sandero) and his very happy with it. Was in service like 2 or 3 times for oil change (has 46.000 km) gets like 4l/100km. Fact it was 13000 euros and it has automatic ac, cruise control and a media nav system, in my book that's more that enough.
