I tried the brand new Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen from Nagasaki to Takeo-Onsen. It's the shortest distance Shinkansen in Japan.

Everything looks so clean and modern in Japan, I really enjoy that. People seem to take more pride in their public spaces as e.g. in Europe. Many thanks for the video, lovely landscape btw on the way to Hakata.

I like the use of wood on the seats. It looks more friendly than plastic. I have seen on other channels how much work goes into maintaining and cleaning (inside and outside) a Shinkansen train. It makes me appreciate them even more. Safe travels!

Indeed! The shinkansen spoiled me for any train here in the United States! I'd rather take the shinkansen than fly any day. Much more relaxed. A book and a bento was all I needed.
@Waywren

I kind of see the advantages to both. The Shinkansen was very quick and comfy, but a bit impersonal and isolating. The limited express rattled a lot, but you could connect with the scenery. I guess it would depend on how tired I was!

I would have sat on the person's lap that was in my reserved seat. When's your next eating video coming out?🍜 I would prefer speed over scenery. Since it's not overnight and, there's no curry the sooner the trip is over, the better!

Can't wait to take this train next year! My favorite short shinkansen hop ever was when I remembered I still had a JR Pass and hopped on the first train from Sendai back to Tokyo Station. A trip that took most of an hour out by Densha, was over in about 15 minutes.

Would have liked to see the regular Shinkansen seats. The reserved seating didn't look comfy. Perhaps all the walls were there to reduce the train's noise to the surrounding community. Sorry about no soap. Somehow the job doesn't seem finished until your paddies get washed. Lunch looked good, glad you enjoyed it. Enjoyed the Limited Express, you could enjoy the scenery. As for the train rocking . . . I've always thought that was what trains were suppose to do. As for speed or scenery, all things being equal, I prefer safety. Enjoyed the video. Will see where you take us on the next one. Be careful and stay safe.

Thank you for another excellent video. Excellent photography. The sound is excellent. There is a feel that we all are joining you on this trip. If you need to be somewhere by a certain time than speed is important. if you are enjoying the view only than speed is not important. On the second train in the unassigned seat there is a shared armrest. What is the etiquette about who uses the shared armrest?

I love scenery. I will even leave earlier to take a different route I havnt been on before just to see the landscapes. I think I would be very sad if I went to Japan and rode a train that I couldn't see anything but walls out my window. But I would be a tourist. People who live and work in Japan care about time. So of course the faster train would be the way to go.

actually I can't imagine how fast the Japanese train is even though it's very stable and comfortable inside but at high speed it should have a slight tremor but this is almost non-existent so I'm quite amazed at how hard Japan works to build something so powerful and advanced so I'm quite satisfied when traveling , because the price is already expensive so what is given is very satisfying

I'd always choose scenery over speed, but then I'm retired so don't need to hurry. A great view is one of the benefits of train travel over flying (not to mention the greater comfort). Our trip from Sydney takes 50 minutes by air on Qantas, and 7 and a half hours by train, but we choose the train trip when we can!

I live in Arizona and the houses here are sooooo boring. I love seeing the different types of houses in Japan and how they go from traditional styling right next to something that looks like additions were added and then added some more, and then a little more was added and then you see something completely modern right down the street from that - so interesting!
