My pieced together, Ford engine swapped, 5-speed Jeep J-10 actually drives on the road for the first time in over 25 years! It even looked good doing it, because I used the Vice Grip Garage "Shine Juice" technique to really bring out the patina. I even have the brakes working on this FSJ, with brake lights and everything! Its really coming along now...

Now at this point I wouldn't be surprised if Jay Leno made a cameo in one of your videos... I worked as A repair technician in a rental equipment yard for 10 years. During that time I was forced to service everything the "proper" way! After watching your videos it brings back memories of my youth. All too often needing to get farm equipment back usable enough to get the job that was most critical finished with the supplies on hand. Bubble gum and bailing wire reengineering! Ahhh it brings back memories...

For anyone going to do calipers, you flip the final dust shield inside out and put it in the groove on the piston after greasing the crap out of it. It should just slide in but you have to finagle it. To get a stuck piston out, shoot compressed air into the bleeder hole and stick a bunch of sockets and an Alan wrench into the piston cup. Pull the piston back and forth with the Alan while applying air and it will fire out of the hole just be careful because it literally will shoot up to the ceiling.

I like the way you used a pry driver, to properly remove the front calipers. Using the flex line to clear the brake lines, was an excellent idea. It would not have worked for me on my last job, because some of the brake lines had the fabric covering and the lines had disintegrated. The good part was, that I got to practice my double flaring.

I did that Comet Cleanser on my tires back in the late 5-'s and early 60's. Also used it on the rubber floor mats. As great now as it was then. Your painted surface treatment is a no-go for me. All I can see is our micro-fine abrasive desert dust sticking to that oily surface. I'm here in Phoenix and the Sonoran Desert. Reminded me of when I used a equal amount of Boiled Linseed oil and Diesel fuel to seal my Saltillo clay tiles before I put them down on a floor. The mixture soaked into the porous clay and sealed the top surface with a shine you can't believe.

As an aside I was going to clean the wheels on my 2006 Lincoln Towncar, first cleaning in 6 years, yeah, they were looking pretty shabby. I decided to use the crème cleaner that came with a headlight lens restoration kit from Maguari's . I have used mothers and aluminum jelly, it works but it's a lot of work, I'm lazy so I tried the crème stuff, it was amazing! It cleaned the wheels in like 10 minutes each with minimal effort and it doesn't take much product to do it! Thanks for the upload!!

I think the brake caliper rebuild went fine the way you did it. I used to do the same. Rebuild brake kits only. When I go lazy and bought a rebuilt caliper I was really disappointed with the condition of the caliper. It did not fit because it was rusted and worn, but the rebuilder, rebuilt them anyway. I should have gone with the rebuild kit. But it does take longer and time is money.

It does a great job on tires. It cleans most everything with minimal to no scrubbing. I have found you want to rinse it off before it dries though. Also, one thing it isn't, is a degreaser.
