American professional eater Randy Santel versus the Men's Waffle Eating Record Challenge at Waffle Haus in Christchurch on the South Island of New Zealand!! My girlfriend ‪@KatinaEatsKilos‬ and I left Tokyo, Japan in East Asia and flew down to Queenstown on the South Island of New Zealand to begin a multi-week eating challenge tour around both islands of New Zealand. For final South Island food challenge #2, we flew up to Christchurch, New Zealand so we could each attempt the Waffle Eating Record Challenge at Waffle Haus on New Regent Street. There is a men's record and a women's record. Katina went before me and attempted to break the women's waffle eating record within the 1 hour time limit. I then went and had 1 hour to hopefully break the men's waffle record which was 17 within 1 hour, held by our local friend Richie who has attempted the challenge 3 times over the past few years that the breakfast challenge has been available. I had 1 hour to eat 18 or more waffles that each weighed around 135 grams or 4.7 ounces. All 18 together would weigh around 5.5lbs or 2.5kg total. The strawberry milkshakes in this video were just optional and not required to be finished as part of the challenge. It costs $30 NZD to enjoy all you can eat (AYCE) waffles, which is the price of the challenge. Winners get all their waffles free and they get a $50 NZD gift card to come back and use later, plus their name gets posted at the top of Waffle Haus' leaderboard Wall of Fame. I've said it before, but one of the many things that makes your channel attractive is that sometimes (rarely) you don't win the challenge. It keeps the channel honest and the entertainment value of the challenge being CHALLENGING is fun to watch. We always hope you win, but if you don't, we not disappointed!

If you eat 16 waffles, I promise you won't enjoy waffles 10-16 as much as 1-4. I don't ever drink liquids and milkshakes just because. I needed the flavor enhancement and moisture to get the waffles down after flavor fatigue set in.

Dunedin city (south of Christchurch) is NZs oldest city. Established in 1848. And during the gold rush days it was the largest city in New Zealand.

Can KZfaq comprehend the fact of not putting A comment on the bottom that’s visible when you initially hit the video before you have a chance to hit the button that makes it full screen. Every time I watch a video I now know what happened and whether or not he’s accomplished this because of somebody’s comment on the bottom. It completely ruins the entire video put the comments under comments and we shouldn’t be able to see them unless we hit the button to read comments.

Randy, you’ve created records you’ve broken records & your health is way more important than any challenge and you know that. Putting food away like all you competitors do on the daily isn’t good for your heart especially. You aren’t young as you used to be and it’s harder to shed weight the older we get which makes it harder on our health as well. Your body is trying to tell you something so please listen to it.
