(please read 👇)
wanted to include a quick note here in the description since i filmed this video 2 weeks ago on february 26th (before and without mention of the situation the world is now in). and i debated for some time whether or not to even post this content in an attempt to not be insensitive to people going through really intense life changes with the current pandemic going on. i was in a really cheery mood when filming this (again filmed 2 weeks prior) and i would hate for people to read that as careless and inappropriate considering the time it gets posted. i really hope all of you, your friends and loved ones are all doing everything in your power to remain as safe and conscious as possible during these wild times. and considering the circumstances, moving forward my videos might be a little different for right now. i may post less than normal, and also might make some vlogs or non-cooking content. as far as cooking videos go, i'm thinking of putting together recipes with ingredients that most people have already at home since i won't be leaving my house anytime soon. sending y'all so much love as i know many of you are dealing with all kinds of different challenges and life circumstances brought on by this virus. also in addition to my videos here on youtube, i will be live on twitch more than usual so you can find me there 🙃👉 bit.ly/3aOVBZq

Hi, person form Italy here. No need to delete anything. The situation here is bad, we can’t get out of our homes (except for work and health issues and of course groceries) and being home all day gets boring real fast (and I’m a nerd who is used to not going out so if I say it’s boring IT IS) and videos not talking about the situation are very very refreshing and calming. News don’t talk about anything other than coronavirus so please, keep making videos because they are distracting and it’s a blessing. Julien, honestly, you and Jenna are such a relief from the overwhelming harshness of the current world. You guys should always make the content you want, but I don't believe you should worry about seeming insensitive. I know my personal mental health is suffering from the constant stress of everything going on, and I know a lot of people in the same boat, but I know that I can always bring myself a moment of peace by clicking onto your channels, rewatching videos from years ago as well as brand new content. People need joy far more than we think, and we are often so bad at thanking those who spread it. So thank you.

Tip for gravy if you like tomatoes or bell peppers they add extra flavour and become quite small when cooked in gravy if you’re squeamish (or strain them out). :) onions n a bit of seasoning work just fine tho!!

My sister used to be allergic too, and she eventually grew out of it at around 18ish. But we could have sweet potatoes (she grew out of that allergy at an early age), and now I can say I prefer things with sweet potatoes to things with potatoes.

Bangers and mash is an English dish, not Irish. Also, your mash is too lumpy and not smooth, and the gravy is WAY to thick, opaque, and light in colour. The gravy should be runny, and a rich, smooth mahogany brown.

Totally agreed. I work for a private contractor who works in schools. I won't get much of a paycheck for the next two weeks, i have bills to pay, but i appreciate the positive videos. It really helps get my mind off of the really negative things right now. Hopefully everyone is okay for the next few weeks

I just wanted to say, before I had even seen his lovely note, that this was exactly what I needed. I have so much anxiety about the world right now, that hanging out with Julien in the Aries kitchen is just what the doctor ordered. That wasn't supposed to be a joke but here we are. You are such a carefree, easy soul, that it makes me stop thinking so hard, and simply enjoy you cooking your food. I'm not one to watch cooking shows, I usually find them too boring or too intense, but I haven't missed an episode of Aries Kitchen, and I don't plan on it anytime soon. Stay light brother

I read what you had to say about the whole pandemic, however, it's so refreshing to see you happy doing something you love and this is YOU, to see someone happy and not be bombarded with sad news and hear about how everyone's stockpiling goods, new cases etc., I think in times like these a little bit of normal is what every one needs! It's amazing you understand how people are feeling and want to adapt to the current situation by helping those who are staying home, but do please continue to be your cheery self! I’m sure he’s using a vegan brand but for anyone who doesn’t know, Worcestershire sauce usually contains anchovies so be sure you get the kind without if you’re vegetarian or vegan. My sister is vegetarian and didn’t know it contained anchovies and was surprised when she found out 😅

cooking your own food is also the safest way to stay healthy right now, with people in the food industry often too poor to take time off if they're sick. so make some bangers and mash! trust me, his recipe is perfect. you can use regular flour instead of corn starch if you're not intolerant to gluten, and i like to take my herbs off the stems, cut them up well, and leave them in the gravy. but definitely try it!

so my birthday was on wednesday, right when the corona shit really started to hit the fan where i live. for that reason and other personal things, i didn't really get to enjoy the day and was actually really sad. but this video reminded me that every year on my birthday (bc i am american but was born in england) my dad would make bangers and mash. that shit slapped SO hard! so i get the feeling of not wanting to be insensitive, but this video was one of the few things that calmed my anxiety over the last few days and reminded me of something really special. although the way you left the foil on that bottle of pinot kicked it right back up, lol. thanks, julien.
