My husband’s family owns a cottage that was newly renovated and they asked each family member to make over a room in the cottage, so I am taking on the challenge of making over our bedroom all by myself. I was so excited to take on the challenge and spend NO money to do it!

I second this and feel like if Becky had time and/or the resources she would def have done this - I’d have maybe not tried to blend it into the wall so much tho? Maybe a brown or a darker green or even a black would work.

I would've also painted the trim around the door pale green, so it matches the closet. I know it's currently matching the baseboards, but it seems kinda off, at least to me 🤔Anyways, just small details, the overall result is *chef's kiss*!

It is like a retro forestcore haha. Fits a lake cottage very nicely. That green is a dream. I actually liked the grey headboard, because the color goes very nice with the greens. But I also loved the end result!! It's so cozy. If you find the chair doesn't work for you in that weird nook I would just put a big basket for laundry or something :)

It's beautiful 💖. And Thank You for recovering the headboard, the cooler gray with all those warm tones was making my eyes twitch 😂. Also, I've been using sticks as curtain rods for about a decade now! They're free & sticks come in Lots of diff natural colors, textures, you can paint them, strip the bark, etc...the choices really Are almost infinite 😊.

Love the “lake house-core” look. Often things are brought from home that you aren’t using there, right? We were looking to replace the andirons and fireplace screen in a room and those are SO MUCH $$$$. All of a sudden I suggested spray painting it and it cost next to nothing! Probably would never have thought of it if I hadn’t been watching your videos the past couple of years!

I'm always impressed when any of the girls works on a solo project and actually quit working on a space. 🤣 Once I'm in the middle of a project, I wanna keep working and typically do until I must quit or fall asleep standing. 😂 I paused the video as Becky was talking about the awkward nook... That's the perfect spot for a luggage rack, or in a normal, every day bedroom, I always need a spot to lay down clothing. For example, I change into my workout clothes after work (🤔) then I change into my lounge clothes. 99% of the time, the clothing I change from end up in a pile on my dogs crate. That nook is perfect for that.

I have BEEN THERE with trying to hang something massive by yourself. I wanted to hang a 5 foot x 4 foot framed poster above my bed early in the pandemic. It took me 2 days to realize I needed to stack cardboard boxes on my bed to hold up one side of the frame and then use one hand to hold the other side and my other hand to hook the wire onto the picture hook.

There was a decor style I think was called northwoods that seemed to come and go pretty fast in the early 2000s (I think). Lot of deep greens, plaids, and tree bark. It was cozy, and I was sad to see it go. Maybe there were too many images of moose and bears in the OG version? This room is like that, but a more sophisticated version. I really do love it.
