You should warm up "juustoleipä" (I call it like that) before eating it. Like in microwave 30 sec with full power. Then add some cloudberry jam on the "bread cheese" and Voila, U have it like it should be eaten. I also recommend that You go to find some fresh cloudberries from swamp. Usually u will found those on June but on July when its enough warm to ripe berries, U can collect them. And then, taste without sugar.

The way you say lakkahillo cracked me up 😂😂 also salmiakki is an acquired taste, eat it enough and you'll start loving it.

With leipäjuusto, you can eat it cold and that's totally fine, but it tastes the best when you heat it up a smidge in the microwave (so it just gets warm and soft), then eat it with the cloudberry jam. Blood sausage: get the kind that's sold in the grill at the grocery store. That's fresh and warm. The prepackaged one isn't nearly as good. Blood pancakes... well, it's prepackaged food so it's always going to be just sort of watery and gritty. Both are good with ketchup though, if you're feeling adventurous.

You have to taste kismet in three flavours marianne, fazerina and lakritsi or it's salmiakki sorry dave :D and fanta mansikka twist.

You should get someone to make the blood pancakes himself instead of eating the factory-made ones! Get blood (frozen from supermarket), rye flour, beer, fried onion and some salt and fry them in a pan with butter! Also the bread cheese (or squeaky cheese as I call it) get super-hyper delicious if prepared like this: put a desired piece in a small oven dish, pour cream on top of it and bake in the oven. Serve hot with cloudberry or raspberry jam :) PS Salmiakki is just the best! PPS If you are tired of trying salmiakki stuff you should try tar ice cream, it is The Stuff!

Finnish kids call leipäjuusto 'narinajuusto' here where I live, literally 'squeaky cheese', because of the noise you hear when eating it.

I'm not sure if it can be found anywhere at this time of the year, but if you can I really encourage you to try Mämmi, it's a traditional Finnish desert which usually eaten at or around Easter :)

Leipäjuusto is called squeaky cheese (gnisselost in swedish) for a reason. It tastes better if you melt it in the oven.

if you add cloud berry or any other jam on your leipäjuusto, you are supposed to warm the cheese first. If you don't warm it, you can eat it alone or in a salad or something towards those lines

You can eat leipäjuusto in cold or heated in oven. If you like a lingonberry. Try lappapuuro (vispipuuro) it is lingonberry porridge.

That Leipäjuusto is very good, but it have to be fresh home made, if you still have it you can use it in hot coffee, just crumble it inside and enjoy. Thats a traditional way to use, when you are hiking in wilderness and dont want to carry milk with you. And salmiakki, you like it or not, thats the way it is :) Go prisma, or any other bigger store, and try to find SULTSINA, this one you like. Silli with potatoes, try different Silli can, many choises. Goodluck and enjoy.
