as a trans traveler myself, this issue is very important to me! thanks for calling attention to it!

I'm a transguy and every time I fly my binder sets off the alarm I don't get angry when I get mispronouned because on my passport and my state issued id is still female and says my birth name. I usually just kindly say I use he/him/his pronouns some people respect it some don't. I can't control people just complain afterwards but to me it is what it is people are going to be assholes

i herd if u tuck and hide ur genital then i guess going thru the scanner wouldn't be a problem or the alarm wouldn't be trigger.. please correct me if i'm wrong.. thanks

It's called a porno scanner.

Damn,didn't know they changed the scanners at airports that much,though its been two years since I last went on a plane,they used to just have a metal detector and that was it.

I am a trans woman too going through transition...I've had the same thing with TSA. Luckily, I live in Hawaii, and it's more common here to be more open to gender variant people. One thing I do want to assist with: I've almost always asked for a manual pat down and FROM a WOMAN TSA agent. That is fully permissible, and TSA has been very helpful/supportive with this in the last 4 months. A year ago, they weren't, and male bigots ran wild in TSA. One other thing: I now got TSA PRE CHECK which puts me through the old fashioned metal detector and less screening. I was an advocate of not being a part of TSA's government list, but I bit the bullet...my choice. Good luck sister, and much love! Jenn

They did the same thing to my when i was flying back from Hawaii, and i still feel violated

stop flying or buy your own plane or rent a plane & get the know how to fly
