O’Neill is out to lunch on his take. The new coach should make a big difference in how the players play the game. I get he is 100% Leafs biased but if he wants to be on a panel like this you need to be a bit more measured in your analysis and not just default to Ottawa = bad Toronto = good.

A major problem up front is that Norris is sucking up $8M and is supposed to be our #1 centre. However, no other team would take his contract without the Sens retaining a huge chunk of it.

we are in a cap crunch due to Dorion, would your rather punt competitiveness to sign pinto to term or compete to covince pinto to sign for term after a bridge

Sit tight. Mathieu Joseph is still on the trade block. Dumping him frees up to $2.95M more in cap space (assuming it's just for picks). Worst case trading Joseph for even a fourth liner could still free up close to $2M. $6.4M (currently $4.4M + $2M) in cap space is more than enough to sign Pinto and still have some wiggle room for the balance of the season. Pinto is still a priority, but signing him was/is less urgent than addressing the Sens' other needs first (in this order): -Goalie - ✅ -Top 4 RHD - ✅ (caveat that the jury is still out on Jensen until we see how he performs with Chabot or Sandy) -Veteran leadership - ✅ -Middle six defensive-minded forward - ✅ -Sign Shane Pinto to a bridge deal - Next up on the to-do list Staois has gotten lots done and management can't do it all at the same time. Lastly, Pinto is an RFA so, by definition, Staios can afford to wait before signing him. Pinto also missed half of last season to the gambling fiasco. He will not want to miss more time due to extended contract negotiations. Sens hold all the cards. Pinto will get signed. My guess is $4.75M for 5 years.

I don't understand why they had to trade Joseph. They sign Amadio who is slower and less productive. Saved maybe 350,000 in cap space. I honestly thought he was going away to make cap space. But seeing how much Pinto signed for. Easily could have kept him. Ullmark trade was good. I understand the Chychrun trade and he was a defensive liability who had to go. But Joseph, i don't understand that one

This "the Sens have terrible defence" narrative is so damn lazy. The sens allowed fewer shots, fewer high danger scoring chances, and had a lower xGA than the Bruins. HOW WILL ULLMARK PLAY BEHIND THEM?!?!?!

If you see the list - it’s ordered high to low according to salary. Pinto has none so far… so at the bottom…

Pinto is definitely our 3C, but he'll be playing 2C this year as Norris will be on the LTIR. No centre depth whatsoever. 😂

Norris better play 82 GD games this year. For a player that has an $8Million cap hit, averaging 41 games per year over the last 3 years is killing the team. Half a season for 3 seasons is no longer acceptable. If Josh doesn't play at least 70 games this year, it's time to flush that turd. They don't need him floating around the bowl stinking the place up.

Here we go again leafs nation !😅 Few boys sitting here cheer for HOW good leafs are in regular season when they win....But when leafs exit the playoffs their tone change .... When Mathew , Marner , Nylander score goals during regular season they jump up and down and dance and celebrate as if they won the LORD Stanley cup! 😅 These boys sign with Leafs to get rich ! But not to win Stanley Cup..... TML is a Gravy Train for these boys....😊
