Looking forward to watching all the videos. The new clamps are much better at clamping onto angles than the original Blitz clamps. They are angled and flex a bit so seem to hold quite well to a lot of different grinds. I did find you need to be aware of the pinch point just before the screw, if you get a part of the blade back there it won't allow the clamps to close properly and could lead to blade wiggle. You should zero your cube either on the angle gauge stand, or on the top stone holder and then move it to the other to get the correct angle reading. If you zero on the top of the frame you will only get part of the angle singe the arm itself is angled and forms the other part of the triangle. Where the stone contacts the blade is the point, the stone is one leg, and the plane along the stand is the other. The top of the frame is a random point in space in the triangle.

I have both series DM and Venev Orion and Sirius and i agree that build quality and machining on DM blanks is better but in therms of sharpening i prefer Venev.. They dont load up and the resin is not so soft that you can cut a chunk of stone if not careful 2times more abrasives and 1200#F 25% gives better polish (less uniform but finer) than 4000# DM let alone 1500#F on venev... But in all honesty you cant go wrong with either series but with all the hindsight of 15years of obsession with stones , for those who really seek the best posible performance get Metalic Diamond F80-150-240 and Resin bond CBN F400-800-1200🙏 Best of both world (Best for your wallet😉🤭)
