Grats buddy, super steady. New myself, got a rig last month, been practicing this track today, my best is a 1:04.232 Watching this makes me realise how far i have to go in both consistency and technique.

Cheers on the rig buddy! What kind of rig did you get? 😁 I think low 1:04's is excellent for when you're starting out! For consistency try to set visual reference points for yourself at every corner: where to brake, where to turn in, where to apex and where you wanna end up when exiting the corner. It takes time getting used to it, but in the end it takes less of a toll on your focus, so you can be consistent for longer periods of time. I greatly recommend watching Suellio Almeida for driving technique! I've learned a lot from his video's. Focus on learning how to use trailbraking for more cornering grip! That will shave seconds off your laptimes! For trackguides, I recommend watching Erilla! He has a trackguide for every MX-5 cup track.

@RedBeardRacingRBR Moza R9 with Fanatec Clubsport V3 pedals and using my Oddessy G9 monitor. Had to put them on a Playseat Challenge X because I'm limited on space and need foldability. Yeah, I've watched a lot of Suelio Almeida he really seems to know his stuff! I'll take your recommendation for track guides and start taking notes for turn in points, etc. Right now I'm just using braking points and I think points for throttle etc would be very helpful.

New SUB! KZfaq recommended your channel and I'm glad it did. Great content I'm new to iRacing. Two months now after driving in rfactor2, AMS 2, and ACC for years--especially rFactor2. Do you drive other sims or is it strictly iRacing? How long have you been driving in iRacing? What do you like about iRacing when compared to other sims? Do don't you like about iRacing when compared to other sims? How many races do you do in a single day or week, do you get worried that you'll have a string of bad races and your safety rating will crash through the basement? r do you just drive and have fun? During your drive toward victory you mentioned doing track/race guides, I think that's an excellent idea. Also, during a race can you speak to other drivers who may pose a risk and how you identify them--and how you avoid them. Whoa, think made too many requests! HA! But congratulations on your win. You will definitely have more!

Wow! Thank you so much for subscribing and commenting buddy! Before I started iRacing I spent quite some time in ACC as well! My first proper sim was Race 07, I think that was the predecessor to RaceRoom. For now I strictly drive iRacing. Reason for that is I make these video's about it, and I really love how you can slowly progress through your "career". As in: You start out in grassroots racing cups and slowly progress towards faster cars to hone your skills. iRacing is by far the most expensive out of the bunch, but I think it has the best matchmaking system. I also really like ACC, but I dislike that you have to use external services like Low Fuel Motorsports to have similar matchmaking. To me it's too much of a hassle haha. I started iRacing in 2021, and drove it for like half a year. After that I basically quit until february this year. I got back into it, because I felt like KZfaq video's, documenting my iRacing career. Besides it being expensive there aren't many things I dislike about it. I only dislike that some epic racing series are basically dead. Like the Classic Lotus series, or the IMSA Vintage series (KAMEL GT series). I usually only race a couple times per week though. During weekends I mostly practice a couple of hours for the upcoming week. So I spend more time practicing than racing. Of course I worry about having bad races, but practicing a lot beforehand prevents ruining your own race. I aproach every race like an endurance race. I race my own race, and try to stay out of trouble. When someone is clearly faster than me, I see no point in trying to catch up. But when I AM faster, I'll try to pass, but as safely as possible, so patience is key. When it comes other drivers being dangerous, I can tell because their driving is usually quite rough. It's kinda like they race every lap like it's the final lap. When I'm either in front or behind them I'll just wait until they crash themselves out of the race, or let them pass when they're faster (and wait until they crash haha). I'll look into making trackguides! I think that will be a lot of fun! 😁😁

I think you should go for the GT4s! Not sure the GR86 is enough of a jump, it looks like you have the skill to make the bigger jump so why not give it a try?

You know what, that's a valid point! The GR86 feels the safe way to go, but maybe wouldn't give me that much of a challenge. I'll play around for a little bit before I make a final decision. We have still a couple weeks to go! 😇
