In this video I will show you in 10 minutes how to setup the AS44AC including the style of banking comm (2nd crew) used on this route, how to drive and stop and how to recover from an emergency braking application.

Thanks bud. I was coming up to a red signal while I was going 30 mod down hill. Couldn’t stop without the emergency brake. 👍

That emergency anchor in the game is pretty big lol. In reality you'd still sail straight through the signal and be on the radio reporting the bad news to dispatch so you can have that safety discussion.

How do you set up the ES44AC locomotives on the end of the train on horseshoe curve?
@trainsimulatordriver Жыл бұрын
You shouldn't need to do anything to them. Just make sure before you put the reverser into the front loco you turn on banking comm on the radio in the lead cab. This will effectively control the rear locomotives.

When you set up a TRAIL loco do you turn off the engine run , gen field, control fuel pump, do you have to touch the reverse at all and does that mean that every loco behind the lead are trailer units. I must be doing something wrong because at 8 power at 1.2 percent I can not go no more than 25 miles per hours, Need help 🤔
@trainsimulatordriver Жыл бұрын
The valve you set to Trail is about brakes nothing else. The switch is for the lights and only sets which way the lights face. The other controls don't really matter because the locomotives following the lead and connected to it are controlled by the lead loco.

Great tutorial. I think this is the East bound to Altoona scenario which I am having trouble with. When I start it there isn't a green signal. Do you think this is a bug or am I missing something? Subbed

It could be a bug, its always possible that's why I'm trying to get the service number so I can check and report it. Glad you like the tutorial and hopefully we can get you moving. Thanks for the sub.

Hey, thanks for the video. I'm struggling getting the 12,000 tonne oil train up the initial climb out from San Bernadino. I have banking comm on but still dropping to 2 mph 3/4 the way up, no wheel slippage... Is there anything I could be forgetting? Thanks!
@trainsimulatordriver Жыл бұрын
That could actually happen in reality, but if anything the trains in the sim are over powered so it shouldn't happen. Did you turn on banking comm before you put the reverser into your loco or afterwards?
@JulianShagworthy Жыл бұрын
@@trainsimulatordriver Hi and thanks for the reply! I did switch on banking comm prior to inserting the handle, although I'm currently nearing the summit at ~ 19 mph so something seems different this time! I have only just started paying attention to the tractive effort gauge, however, so perhaps I was simply wheelspinning it the whole way up before?
@trainsimulatordriver Жыл бұрын
@@JulianShagworthy it is possible, it is also possible you found a bug :)... if the weather changes the wet can make a huge difference on whether you get up at speed. When slowing down or getting slip you can apply sand which in theory helps.

I'm having trouble with the GEVOs right now, have it in full notch 8, brakes off and set up properly, and it's not even moving close to track speed. Help?
@trainsimulatordriver2 жыл бұрын
Did you turn on banking comm (disp button on radio) before doing anything else at the start of the service? If you didn't that will activate the rear helper locos. On HSC you can only do it first thing or it won't work. Also freights don't necessarily run at track speed, they get given enough power to get the job done, not necessarily get it done at or near the track speed.

I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT HORSESHOE CURVE GAME HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN TO USE LONGHOOD LEAD OR SINGLE OR TRAIL.😀
@trainsimulatordriver Жыл бұрын
For the headlights? Use the setting that matches the loco you're in. Look at the loco side on from outside. The short stubby end is the short hood. If that's facing towards then use short hood lead. For the independent brake (mu26 valve) in the lead loco it should be lead, all others trail.

Sand patch grade was what I meant sorry I can't remember the set-up of the trains to get up the steep gradient thanks for the reply mate 👍
@trainsimulatordriver2 жыл бұрын
@@AndyMick oooo that could well be really easy - before you set up the loco you are in, reach up to the radio and hover your controller over the buttons - I think "PTT" on Sand Patch Grade - it will say "Banking Comm" when you hover over the right one, hit the button then go on with the rest of your setup. This will mean the locomotives down the back will copy your command moves you make at the head end (the idea is you are telling a crew at the back what to do) and they will power and help you get up (or down) the hill.

@@WesleyAlves42 is its strength realistic? its hard to say not having ever driven a real one, generally I suspect that its more about having too much horse power per ton on those trains - they are a bit over powered

@Chicago's Trains & Train Sim World 2 Guy it is an interesting question really, if you go to emergency you dump all the air which applies all brakes fully including the locomotive, also putting the independent on full shouldn't make any difference - but like everything if it makes you happy and doesn't hurt anyone then do it
