My wife was watching a K-drama on Netflix when a song came up there and my brain got triggered almost immediately, a memory of a cat and a bunny. Then it all slowly comeback to me and I ended up finding this compilation! I remember watching this when I was 15 in Newgrounds, now I’m 35 and this made me tear up triggering a bunch of memories from simpler times. I think this is a fantastic animation that is still great by todays standards! And a beautiful message!

I always get goosebumps when the "hate/love" sign at the end starts disintegrating when he hugs her, because he finally realizes that is not about what other's think about their union: if they love each other is more than enough.

This is an important piece of internet art, I always comes back to these once in awhile, and they always make me feel happy

I kinda want to cry, this is so nostalgic for me.

Making me cry as usual. Fuck... I missed these songs so much. I couldn't understand a single word back then and it still moved me to tears because I grew attached to Doki and Nabi.

So many years later, and still the world tries to put barriers to love. Race, gender, religion, everyone has an opinion on who you should be able to love. And still this little clip, every time, gives me new hope that the world can be better.

I love the fact that at first it just seems like a somewhat cute comedy story. But little by little it gets deeper and deeper until at the end you feel satisfaction to see them together. We need more love stories like that.

I have only known these characters for 25 minutes but I feel like I’ve known them my whole life.

Decades later, and I'll never admit this to anyone irl, but I srill rewatch this series every year or so to make sure I still get teary a few times before the end, it helps me check I'm still human deep inside

This animation was fundamental to my upbringing and shaped my worldview in a troubled home, and no one, not the creators nor anybody, will ever know the effect it had on me. This has defined me, my beliefs, and this little life of mine and I'm grateful for it.

I really love this flash animation when I was a kid. And I know. I am old. And I know... I am crying again.

What's deep about this is that she loves animals and every animal she takes care of and rescues, she places them a green scarf. If you notice after the hedgehog's death, she dumps the ashes onto the tree, and ties its scarf onto the branch. That tree with the many scarfs that Nabi finds, is the tree with the scarves of all the animals she (Doki) lost. That drove me to tears. Very very deep.

I remember watching this as a kid. I would have to sneak through my parents' room while they were sleeping. Oddly, I never woke them up. I was a sneaky little bastard. Besides the point. Seeing this on newgrounds, one of the few innocent things I can remember running into. I fell in love with it. It's been years. Out of nowhere, the first song just comes to my head today. Here I am. Still loving it.

Starts out a cute little love story and ends as a strong message about interracial relationships.

I honestly forgot about this for the longest time having first watched it maybe more than 10 years ago. It hit me then but now being in my own interracial relationship and losing friends and family along the way it really is powerful. I'm glad we stuck it out like doki and Nabi 💕

Seeing this all those years later still brings a tear to my eye. Thank you for the childhood memories, SamBakZa, your creation is a true gem of optimism that combines tough social questions which were prominent in South Korea at the time, happiness, depression, violence, anger and pure love together into a gem that only could have come from Newgrounds. Gosh this is an absolute masterpiece I even obsessed with it back in 2019

my girlfriend showed it to me not too long ago and i always cries when rewatching it. i mean i see such a strong message in this. maybe this is more about interracial relationships but this might be about the same-sex relationships too. i mean when two people who loves each other being hated by the most of people. i cry every time. especially from two last steps. this is heartbreaking daaaamn. we just want to be happy with who we love and its a trial who you will choose - other’s people opinion or the person you love. me and my girlfriend live in russia where relationships like this is judging by government itself and so by most of people in country. and sometimes its really just like in this animation. it hurts.

My wife is Korean and I met her while teaching over there. I definitely remember the occasional glares, especially from older people. This hits home. Then we moved back to the States and the hate crimes spiked. So it hits home again.

Said it once and gotta say it again. The little suitcase exchange Doki and Nabi have at the airport is exactly the promise Nabi made to Doki in the 1st episode, when he surrendered after Doki cut down the tree.

I became obsessed as a child with There She Is and it helped me accept myself for who I am and inspired me to pursue my artistic career and now I've made it!
