Great Shaye!!!

To say... Shaye and Co is brilliant... is the greatest understatement

It must be wonderful to have that much talent and be able to share it with us.....they’re the BEST....

I discovered Tuba Skinny on youtube. Since then I have shared them with many people who enjoy great music. One man, in particular, an 85 years old who played trombone with one of the Dorsey brothers. I can't remember which one. He said Tuba Skinny is producing music that has that yesteryear feeling and soul to it.....something that has been mostly lost. Shaye and Erica, you are incredible. I know sometimes Tuba Skinny solicits help from other musicians, but the folks in this video are the best!!!! Thank you for making this world a better place.

Yeah, finally arranged to where we can see the string section of the band! I've complained for so long, about Robin on wash board blocking the view of the Guitarist. This is so much better, please make it this way in your future You Tube Premium videos! Erika is "so cool", and can she ever sing and play that Bass Drum... oh what rhythm, she's got it!! fv n' Okc.

On n'a jamais fait mieux à la clarinette depuis Johnny Dodds et Mezz Mezzrow (et chez nous Claude Luter) (Sidney Bechet jouait le plus souvent du saxo tenor) Parfois Erika a des accents de Bessie Smith et a l'entrain dans certains morceaux, comme celui-ci, d'une Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Il faut la voir, assise sur sa grosse caisse (géniale innovation)et la frapper inlassablement sans, à aucun moment, ne faire un faux pas. Et que dire des autres ? Que du bien ! Sherman chante à la perfection le trombone est dans le juste tempo Les deux femmes de la bande sont INDISPENSABLES Le washboard player surfe sur sa planche avec délice pour les oreilles et avec humour. Sa joie de jouer et son sourire adressé à ses auditeurs sont envoûtants et le banjo est aussi sérieux que son jeu. (ainsi que les guitaristes.) Quant au Tuba, sans lui et ses accents syncopés martelant les phrasés, l'ensemble ne pourrait se prévaloir de cette sonorité si particulière et pourtant si classiquement traditionnelle qu'on a plaisir à écouter l'ensemble pendant des heures. Rien n'est à jeter dans ces interprétations. Ils viennent, paraît-il, d'horizons différents et pourtant ils forment un tout indissociable. Qu'ils ont de la chance ceux qui peuvent fréquenter le "Quartier français" de la "Nouvelle Orléans". Ils peuvent vivre et mourir sans se voir vieillir parce ce qu'ils entendent ne vieillit pas... grâce à Tuba Skinny et, je pense, à quelques autres qui suivent leur talent. Et merci à You Tube. Sans ce formidable vecteur de communication, je ne les aurais peut-être jamais connus. Maintenant que j'arrive au soir de ma vie, ils m'aideront à la finir pour le plaisir de mes oreilles.

That Erika Lewis is pretty good. She can sang.

Those of us who watch Shaye closely will enjoy her sticking her tongue out at about 1:18. I suspect she wasn't happy with what she blew just before then. You'll never see her reacting negatively to the audience or what other band members do, but she holds herself to a high standard. This is a scintillating rendition of this TS classic, with Erika's drumming keeping things moving briskly. Great work by Todd and Robin. Wonderful tape!
