Keymod was a good system due to the taper centering and locking the piece however it lost its commercial appeal due to mlok winning USGOVT contract for R&D project like the URGI Rifles, however Mlok was primarily invented by magpul not for it's resistence to drop or direct concussion wich is by Govt trial superior to KeyMod but because it could be molded into polimer and technopolymer materials making them stiffer and more cheap to produce avoiding to cut the insert making the plastic loose well, it's plasticity making it brittle, however on aluminum due to the low plasticity itself of the material mlok system it is inferior therefore on something like a full picatinny made from aluminum o a QSert insert on aluminum you can re-reach the wanted grade of sturdiness to bending and warping for devices that need to support to torque/distortion or concussions like bipods, grips, laser/Lep/Light/Ir Active/Passive aiming devices and more and more on

It is actually. Its designed to sit in a way where you won't accidentally drop a mag out of the rifle. It's different but I like it much more than other designs where I'd drop a mag by resting the rifle incorrectly on a barricade. Cant happen on this one. With the bolt back it seats easily. With 13 in the magazine it needs to be popped firmly to lock in
