As always, instructive, competent, intelligible! I myself assembled a small arched canopy from corrugated pipe and made do with only bolted connections and clamps.

Hey there - I drove to Milo Maine during that store.. it was nasty! I had 3 hours worth of detours coming from vermont! I also plan on building a 3 car garage like this but with a bonus room above it this year. You mentioned a few of the costs. Do you have a full break down of what you spent? Even down to the slab- thanks!

Oh Jeez That a lot of detours hahah, My slab cost probably twice what it should have due to the groundwork to level the site. It was approximately 7500 ground work, 7500 in the slab pour and form, Id guess about $25k budget. you could probably do it for a third less if your sire was level and you found a cheaper concrete guy. I used shaedler in Topsham. Great guys but pricey

Actually Florida has higher wind loads so it needs to be strong there as well. 180mph winds are to be expected.

Hmmm, Interesting. I started years back framing roof after roof and we were never told to cross brace the trusses. I wonder if the truss world updated since that time. tHanks for a very interesting video!

Yeah there were lots of updates like reinforcing the gable so hurricane can’t suck it out, I guess a lot of codes on that changed after some big storms damaged a lot of roofs

Always improving @@ecophage . I built a house in Florida and then went to the big CT next. CT's codes were far more relaxed that Florida's. I picked up the lesson of building to the environment around us. All that cool building was before...now I'm no more than a door knob changer because ....actually...I don't know why. Funny how that works. Well, at least I have a nice collection of door knobs. Have a great afternoon! Happy New Year!

@@Dancing_Alone_wRentals the codes here are pretty lax, this information was with the packet that came with the trusses. So it’s possible it’s just manufacturers recommendation

Interesting that you called out the "Cheap" tube steel buildings.......Seen some utube clips on them, the video you showed, Seen that, and the problems, bottom line, he had an inexperienced hack crew try to do it, and failed. Glad you called out the "hidden" fee's and red (flag) wording in the contracts. Comparing your wood stick build to the metal tube, your much better off, period.
