@@hottrakz I actually backed out of it. I heard it has a lot of saturation compared to the real one. Me personally I love saturation, but it’s so much easier to record clean and then add color later imo. The wa1b sounds cleaner to my ears, but at that price point I would probably get a distressor. For me plugins have been working fine, my mixing has improved a lot.

Even with the naps set to normal it's still too much saturation I know there are three different settings I figured I'd ask 2500 should get you close if not spot on play it's defeating the purpose if the sound is not transparent@@waves7300

Warm audio mod shocked me, I'd track with that happily! As far as the CL1B vs Heritage. Kinda hard to hear the difference since the CL1B was noticeably louder. And louder means "better" but I'm sure even level matched, nothings replacing my CL1B lmao Great vid, thanks!

It shocked me too hahahaha but it's a great mod mic contact @themfcnetwork to get one from him! He goes by Link. Now as far as the CL1b it is extremely jumpy and mind u all the settings on the tubesessor and tube tech cl1b are all on 12 o clock position on purpose just to hear things. And again the tube tech is louder hahah!

Thanks for the VDO. In my humble opinion, if you want Tube Tech Cl1b, just save up for one, don't settle for immitations. But, if you like the Tubesessor for what it is then get it and love it for what it is. Same goes for any gear.

Great review I am curious though if the tube tech signal was hotter because it sounds that way on KZfaq or was the heritage audio just lower with the same output settings? As I said just curious but thanks for taking the time out greatly appreciated. I would buy a unit myself if it were available so instead I have to result to KZfaq. I refuse to pay reverb or eBay prices for a CL 1B. 2500 is no slouch either so that thing better be worth it that's why i asked

I agree! I’d still go with the Sony, but as far as the compressor goes, I think Heritage Audio really has it figured out with all the extra feature set. Also I found that the Tubsessor on classic mode is cleaner for sure! I even have one and I love it!

man! I agree with you on that in regards to heritage audio especially with the tube saturation feature! However I love the tube tech to except its to jumpy so u really have to manually control the gain knob sometimes in vocal tracking sessions. Now as far as Sony mic... I love that mic and its a go to mic for pop/rap but this modd that my boy @themfcnetwork aka link did he basically got alll and I mean alllll original Sony parts and put it in a warm audio wa8000 including a Sony heat sync, tubes and capsule ..... Lastly I did run everything preamp wise thru a vintage neve 1090 1 of 1 ever made and outside of compressors I ran both signals thru my vintage ssl 4000 e/g plus console so u can really hear the signal chain. Im happy that you along with everyone on this comment section dig the reviews! Means a lot knowing people really care about good quality / good signal and analog stuff!!!! Just a kid from Virginia Beach 757 man!

To me.. The Mics were close enough that i could use either. I still like the CL1B over the HA. There's a high end gloss/sheen that is missing on the HA. Price is close enough to just by the OG

I think the WA8000 Modd is cool espeically if you already own the Warm 8000 but you could get a better mic for less for example the Stam Audio SA800G. The modd sounds a bit brittle in the top end compared to the 800G imo.

I have the same views on the wa8000 modded. It’s a beast. I’m going to try the tubesessor this week. CL was my preference but … I’m interested to see if that saturation factor can be of critical use. Running a revive audio mic pre M72 on a LT 386 currently. If the tubesessor doesn’t hit it out the park I’ll try the tegeler vtrc as they have similar features. That aside, does the tubesessor meet all the expectations as far as how it sounds?

The volume differences in volume on the Tubessor vocal comparison is much lower than the CL1B. Not a fair test.

Maintenance for the Sony and price of tubes are why I sold it and kept my Telefunken. I don't have time for that and I'm not trying to pay hundreds of dollars to fix and maintain a $10k mic. This ain't no damn Mercedes. Most my Telefunken needs is a new tube and that's not even often. I don't think I've ever even changed the tube in my 251 because I HAD to. It's always been because I wanted a different tone.

@@KROKchannel not what I expected! Lmao yo the Heritage chain is smoother. The WA chain is more forward. Can’t go wrong with both honestly. Matter of fact I recorded ya boy Stuntman Laflare with the LCT 1040 thru the Heritage Audio did he show you yet??
