Tubing in San Marcos is one of the best ways to cool down especially during the summer. The only problem with that is sometimes it gets too crowded. It’s still fun though.

I lived there for almost 2 years spent an amazing summer in this river had one of the most awesome summers of my life I was 11yrs old and tubbing and swimming here almost everyday was the highlight of my move to San Marcos tx... Summer 1983

I love this river i go there everyday and i love it my favorite thing is to stand on the rapid in only 8 years old and i can do triple frontflips off of the rapids

yes, I just came from there. we were going to go down with the tube when I was trying to get on and it sucked me away. I prepared myself for the 1st one, but immediately went over the 2nd time. I was scared thinking I was losing my breath when the 3rd time came. I prayed while being dragged to the bottom to let me make it to the top and I would never get back in. I have been swimming since 7 yrs old, and I felt that I couldn't make it.

I almost drowned here last Saturday, and I have been a competitive swimmer, Life Guard, and Swim Instructor for most of my life. This place is VERY dangerous. It's a dam, and dams are known to suck you in and trap you. I have been told that a lot of people have been rescued and almost drowned here.

the best time to go an see some real action is during the summer. I personally love rio vista its the best place to have. that is if you know what your doing and from this video id say it was a boring day for rio.!!!!!

There are different parts u can stay or get tubes like for me I had to tube threw a river for about 10 mins nd then I got the the water fall

just went today i couldnt come up my 16 year old son and i both almost drowned, there are 2 more drops right on top of the other and my tube took off down river. i cringe to watch these children go down without a life jacket. i am a strong swimmer and i was exausted i never want to feel that scared again swimming for my life and fear for my child again. when i finally was able to stand up i couldnt find my son, thank God he was ok, all i could think is that he was still stuck under that water.

You are under for a a max 4 seconds which is only on the third one, I don't know how you almost drowned.

lock your kids up in your basement so that they never experience anything potentially dangerous in life.

Clash On99 It's a lot longer than 4 seconds if you can't come up beforer all of the other water falls. It's a panicked feeling.

Aww I feel for you. I’ve been going there every summer since I was 15 and I haven’t gone in three years because last time I went I went through it on my tube but I had a rope tied to my friend’s tube too. Well the scary thing I was afraid happened, I flipped over and the tube ending up around my head and the rope squeezing around my neck all while I’m trying to regain my balance in the currents. It was those few seconds of panic that kinda put me off of going through that again but to each their own but I feel your pain. When I got the rope and tube off of me I could just thank god I was able to breathe air again and looked around me and people were looking at me smiling but everyone knows you eat your shit there every now and then.

I just went down where this video is taken....came off my tube and was sucked under and trapped under water in a pool like a eddy i guess and COULD NOT COME Up !!! vERY SCARY!!!! If it hadnt been for a young mans legs that was able to feel out and grab a hold of and pulled myself up i would have drowned!!! Please be aware this can happen to you of your children...i am a 37 yr old very strong swimmer...i was being held under by a very strong force

Yeah, people have died drowning there in the past. My parents told me all about it and how they don't want me going

Yes! I almost drowned here last Saturday! I am a good swimmer too. Used to compete nationally. This place is VERY dangerous.
