An easy way to reduce even count tubular peyote without changing bead sizes. With this method, you can use the same size bead thoughout the piece, saving bead money!

So very pleased to have found this channel again. This lovely lady's videos got me into peyote beading all those years ago.

Very nice method. Bead and Button Mag. site has a method that's a lot like this, but you cull through your beads and find the thinnest beads in the mix. My Toho size 11 beads always have a small collection of abnormally thin forms mixed into the vial. Like your pattern, sew through 2 beads without adding one. The next row use one or two thin beads in that space. Then the third row sew through the one or two thin beads. Then add one normal bead in that space when stitching the fourth row.

Excellent idea. That way you'll be able to see exactly where you need to go for the step up, which can be hard to see if you're not sure what you're looking at.

Thanks for sharing, needed a quick way to reduce and this looks like it will work for my project.

You are awesome! I have been beading since I was a kid without professional training (Alas!) And I did simple peyote, never around a cabochon. You have become my teacher on here, I've already made some fan earrings and I've just bought three oval cabochons but I don't know the sizes :( I hope I'll work it out fine, thanks to you :) God bless, - Faith

That's a good question. I don't do a whole lot of increasing, but the process involves adding two beads in a space. I may do a tut on it.

@MiXueLe I've yet to find any "thin forms" in any of my Toho collections. I could sure use them sometimes! What you're describing is a "gradual decrease." Because the curve was pretty severe on this handmade cab, I chose the "severe decrease" method.

Nice tutorial. I assume the point of doing an even count bead peyote stitch is to even out the patterns. I am doing a keychain and it's loose so I want to reduce it. I assume two skipped beads at (one on each opposite sides of the keychain )while in the middle of a solid color section would do the trick. Please advise! Thank again!

Cheaper beads aren't standardized well: for us in Hungary will be only sold beads, which are very diverse (although they will be sold as the same type in the same bundle) -- but these are all second-rate products, so I don't have to be worry about not to find beads of diverse sizes in one bundle. :) Good idea, anyway!
@tsummerlee14 жыл бұрын
@Aveszedelem Yeah, I know, but I'll bet you can buy Czech hanks cheaper than I can! Czech beads are awesome for all kinds of things, even for lots of weaving projects. Here's a way to remember: Quality Japanese seed beads never (NEVER) come on a hank. (or temporarily strung). They're always sold loose. Czech seedbeads are sold on a hank, but can also be sold loose. If the beads are strung when sold, they're Czech beads.

@hwiseman1 I wouldn't cover the actual phone, and I see what you mean about a silicone cover...wouldn't work. However, I'm thinking you could use silicone glue to adhere a few things to a silicone cover. That might work.

I just watched this again and finally got it. I'm having trouble because I have to do a peyote stone that I cannot add a backing because it is going on a bracelet after and it would not look good. I'm getting so frustrated because I know how to do peyote just not in the round that well so I'm trying to bead around the first row. Any suggestions Guru ? Hehe. Oh mighty one. just kidding. you are great tho I know people do it all the time, I'm very frustrated and want to get this bracelet done.

@tsummerlee Hi tsummerlee, have you ever tried the website stoklasa? I did not try it yet, because there is a minimal limit for the worth of buying, but shure, You can find there Czech beads (it's a Czech wholesale site). I don't think, ordering from them would be more expensive, as an order from an other internet-store.

@FaithSheikh I never measure anything, which is probably a mistake. That hasn't really caused me any problems so far, though. Have fun!

@debthebeader No, not yet. I can't really look until I have the money for a security deposit, 'n stuff. I'll be looking by the end of the month, though. My poor neighbor lady is super upset about it. She has two kids and really loves it here.

@wanda840 Increasing is accomplished by adding two beads in a space instead of one. I've got a tut, slash, rant on it, made during an unfortunate weekend in our nation's history.

@imceltqpor Gawd, it was a piece of crap smoke detector at my old place. The thing had a mind of its own and loved to act up when I was trying to make a video. Nothing made it shut up, either. The landlord finally replaced it, but geeze!
@kzookid20515 жыл бұрын
In that case, please redo the video for those with sensitive hearing. I turned the sound down, but every time the detector beeped it was like getting jabbed in the ear with an ice pick. I was unable to watch beyond 2:09.
