This is a brief comparison of the Tudor Pelagos Marine Nationale watch from the perspective of a CWC RN reissue diver. When I bought it 15+ years ago, I never realized that military watch reissues and collaborations would one day become so mainstream. It was just a nice looking, well built and reasonably priced watch with some interesting history. Seeing the new MN Pelagos makes me realize just how special and ahead of it’s time the CWC was.

CWC are completely first class; fabulous value. Silvermans in London is the place to go online.

It's absolutely the worst place to go online. Their CWC watches are priced about $150 more than just buying them directly off of CWC's website. What in the hell are you even driving at, Davey boy?

Thoughtful analysis. I bought one of the 1980 reissue CWC divers and flipped it after 2 years. I am lucky enough to own a 1995 diver and 1994 SBS, both issued quartz watches. Whilst I prefer mechanical watches, the provenance makes them so nice to wear.

I think the CWC in terms of aesthetics is miles ahead of the Tudor. These new Tudor divers are almost like toy watches in terms of the look. These CWC are much more conservative.

Cool vid! 👍👍 I have one question though. I was thinking about purchasing the same exact watch as you have in the video (CWC). One thing that's putting me off is the aluminum bezel. Does the aluminum hold up good? Any fading or scratches on your CWC? Also how long have you had it?

Some idiots clipped the bars , and destroyed only good watches because they are welded into the case !!!!😠😠I had one sample in my hands .😭😭

I honestly don't understand why Americans buy them as they don't seem to grasp the British military thing and it's not about the mass market. If you don't like the bars and understand the reasoning, then sell the bloody thing.

I’m American and bought a CWC Royal Navy “Silver” Auto, but I respect the British military association as I, a U.S. Marine, recognize that our American military has its roots with the British military (the Royal Marines have their Lion and Crown, Gibraltar, Globe with Eastern Hemisphere, Laurels, Fouled Anchor and “Per Mare Per Terram” while the U.S. Marine Corps has the “Semper Fidelis”, Eagle, Globe, and Fouled Anchor) and I can appreciate the improved security of the fixed bars.
