Tudor Watches Pink Black Bay Chrono... I Have Strong Thoughts. On the one hand I absolutely love this new release. I think it is so daring for Tudor to make such a masculine watch in a feminine colour like this. It looks great; it ties in really well with their brand ambassadors; BUT my big problem is that it is simply unobtainable.
Not, like, Rolex unobtainable... Like... They are not making many of these unobtainable. They will barely exist. I do think this gives us a taste of what might be happening at watches and wonders for Tudor. MAybe some more watches on the 5 link bracelet? I'd love to see all the Black Bays getting the T Fit treatment.
This was only released yesterday, so of course I have not seen one in person yet - these are just my initial reactions. This is in every way a regular old BB Chrono in specifications - just a dial and bracelet update.

I just bought this watch today from my AD. Came in to check if I’m still on the list for OP36 candy pink, and got offered Tudor Chrono Pink instead. I wasn’t prepared, but fall in love with it right away.

Mandarin speaker here! Jay Chou is one of the most important Mandopop musician in the past almost 20 years, and he had a role in one or two American blockbusters (the names elude me). his last name is generally pronounced CHAO even though it’s written Chou. The many Chinese dialects in our region makes it varying in pronouncing even for us mandarin speakers!

FYI, Jay Chou is one of the most iconic pop singer in Chinese-speaking regions (Mainland, Taiwan, Singapore, Hongkong...and lets not talk about politics here). Jay have been the Tudor's brand ambassdor long time ago. He is part of the reason why people in Asia buy Tudor, besides being the tie-selling products to get Rolex. In general, he generates a lot of profit for Tudor and is therefore honored by Tudor. Money talks XD

Hey Britt, this will help you out; 70's diver chronographs were a big thing. The original Tudor black bay that came out as a diver was too stern and looked like a massive confusion of a dive watch black bay trying to be a Rolex Daytona. Now, with the pink and playful elements, it has crossed over into being a 70's diver chronograph with just a hint of being a Rolex sub brand, very much mirroring the 70's funky vibe you see in the Tudor Red bull chronograph. This should be the formula for the BB Chronograph moving forward. It cannot afford to be serious because no brand, not even Tudor will be taken seriously next to a Daytona, unless it is a 1:1 copy and that is not going to happen with Tudor. This is what it should be, the modern diver chronograph funky version of the Vintage Tudor Monte Carlos

But the case thickness. If its the same of the other Tudor Chrono watches it is 14.6mm which is the same as the very thick BB Pro. Its a chonker compared to a Rolex Daytona at 11.9mm

This is the PROBLEM WITH TUDOR CHRONOS FOR MEEEE! I know automatic chronographs just are larger... But 15mm??!?! Gosh, it's too large for me. I have this fantasy that Tudor will release a more heritage chronograph or GMT - like a 37mm - but I'm just not sure they can do the movement thin enough for it to be desirable

@@BrittPearceWatches I feel the same, I saw that Christopher Ward released a new Chronograph version of their Sealander yesterday and its only 11.66mm but... they went with an ETA quartz movement. Its an interesting choice, and for me a quartz movement needs to be something special like the grand Seiko 9F or Eco-drive in a "luxury" watch. I would love to see you do a video on interesting quartz movements.

Like Rolex, Tudor could have slipped a turd over the dial to leave brown streaks and the watch internet would have gone OMGOMGOM and bent each other over backwards to get one. It doesn't matter what colour it is, it's limited and that means $$$$$$$ on "resell"
