This April, the Otago Settlers Association’s Tuesday Club welcomes Emeritus Professor Adrian Shubert and Associate Professor Boyd Cothran of York University, Toronto, Canada.
The Edwin Fox now rests in Picton, but once sailed the seas, carrying luxury goods, mundane wares, and all kinds of people, including hundreds of settlers to New Zealand between 1873 and 1880. Shubert and Cothran join us to speak about their recently published book on the Edwin Fox, that explores “How an Ordinary Sailing Ship Connected the World in the Age of Globalization”.
This event begins with refreshments and an opportunity to chat with Otago Settlers Association members.
