a lower stall speed converter will give you great performance down low but stall at higher RPM and it becomes inefficient, a higher stall speed converter will suck down low but give you great efficiency at higher Rpm. stall speed becomes irrelevant when the converter locks , i don't own a ford so i wouldn't be able to tell you what is is for your truck but that is happening is that after a certain rpm it looses efficiency so it doesn't pull as hard, the transmission is waiting for the speed to try to match the rpm that it would have if it was locked for the transmission to lock. then you get full engine power at the wheels. more power the engine has the easier it is for the converter to get past the stall speed. i own the high output ram and that is exactly why the high output feels slower than the normal ram. the Aisin has a extremely low stall speed converter , i would say past 1800 rpm you loose efficiency and it feels really slow until the transmission locks. but as you've experienced, once it is locked then you feel the difference and sometimes its hard just to keep the speed limit unless you use cruise control because its so sensitive

Question...if you don’t have a monitor showing you your DPF status, how do you know you were not in regen for any part of the mpg test? When you get your 2020, have the dealer turn on “OCR” on your dash so you can monitor your DPF status (mine did it free because I made it a final condition of the sale after I negotiated my price). I also had my dealer turn off “adaptive learning” features on the transmission so that you don’t have that “dead pedal” feel if you drive light footed a couple hundred miles. If you leave it on, and drive 200 ish miles with cruise or a combo of light foot and cruise, it will give you about 20% dead pedal because it expects you to continue being light footed. Annoying! Lol I’m guessing the Derringer stops dead pedal programming as well. PS I love the 4Runner so far! I’ve got 16 miles on it already! Lol

I use the SCT BDX on my limited with a custom tune from chaos. I’m getting 22/18mpg and my 0-60 with 4500ft altitude is 6.5 seconds lol. I feel banks has a very safe system but it’s not that much power for how much money you’re spending.

When you install a power adding box you can no longer use the trucks fuel mileage calculations! Not just the tires but the box is adding fuel the computer that calculates mileage may not know about.
