I tuned my full wave 80m loop for 14.250 and it work fantastic! I get increased gain on 20m as well

In Australia we say “Knickers in a knot” 😂. Spreadsheet is what I should’ve done. Instead I was photographing my analyser graphs. I’ll do both next time !

Used your calculator a few weeks ago to tune my new inverted V for 40m and retune my Cobweb (20-6m) after modification. Worked like a charm! I found that with the Cobweb it's best to tune inside-out. So start with 6m and work your way to 20m. Tuning one element will affect the previous element somewhat, but nothing crazy as long as you start with all (untuned) elements in place.. 😅 And never analyze/tune an antenna which is not placed how you intend to work it.

Sage advice, keeping notes in some form is essential for anything scientific.

I was writing all my results on paper. It just didn't occur to me to put it on a spreadsheet. Thanks for the brain bump Cal.

I keep track of what the NanoVNA says is the sweet spot. Then another column for what your spreadsheet tells me to do. Then another column for what I actually did. I keep doing that in a row until I'm happy enough with the tune.

Excellent advice. I have been keeping a pocket notebook with all that info about my antennas but I think I will now create a spreadsheet to keep up with it all and have a record in case, god forbid, I lose my notebook. BTW I use the calculator on a regular basis. I always envy the room you have in your fenced in antenna farm 😁 Thanks! Jack K5FIT

Nice Video Cal. Did a WSPR test last night using my DXC, EFHW and Mag Loop. Nothing scientific, just curious. Overall DXC won the day :) Mark, 2E0MSR.

You can put 2 metal trash bins/cans on a wooden picnic table load them up with an antenna tuner and go. sometimes you can just run the antenna analyzer on it and find a resonance and don't need a tuner, adjustments may be needed. Metal shopping carts, 2 cars parked end to end, a light post, flagpole. Pretty much everything conductive has a resonance that can be used or altered to be used as an antenna. ANd just like building a resonant antenna, learn the theories and have some fun!

Thanks Cal for the spreadsheet, one question with Fan dipoles do you tune as a whole to start with or individual elements. I have one for 40,20 and 10, 10 is way off I am wondering if I need another element for 15 or 17 in there as well for it all to work. Apologies if this is a noob question

Hi! I got the DX Commander all set up. My reading is 1.0/1 center band on all advertised bands except 30 and 80. No tuning was required. The 30 meter is unusable which is fine by me. The 80-meter band is 1.2/1 centered in the high area on the voice section on purpose. I use the high area more than any other, (3900 to 4000 Khs'). Question though. I ran the 80-meter wire through the TOP spreader, is that correct? I didn't find much information on the 80-meter inverted L setup. Thanks.
