Just love the mechanical ringer sound of the low altitude warning. Only in Russia. Though I imagine it must get pretty old having to repeatedly shut it off during approach.

when I was 10 my Dad had pilot friends in Tbilisi Airport so they use to take me on the trip to Ukraine and back, I got to sit in pilots seat and ride in the nose of the plane, as a kid you never forget the experience. pilots were Georgian and guy at the nose was called "engineer", Russian guy really nice guy ! now most Russians are acting like bullies but I try to ignore it and think positive. there are good people everywhere

Замечательный лайнер для настоящих пилотов, сейчас же одни операторы, в рукопашную зайти для них стресс, хорошо если сядут без последствий.

@immortalisblog It has a glass nose, if you look at 6:35 you can see an opening bellow the instrument panel and a man sitting behind it.

It's not the glass-nose model? What was that ringing sound at approach?
@lazio87407 жыл бұрын
its glass-nose. RA-65572. Was scrapped at Syktyvkar in 2014

The ringing sounds are the marker beacons. There are outer, middle and inner marker beacons giving reference for crosschecking your altitude at certain distance from the runway during approach.

@@csehakos3486 I didn't know that these aircraft have a ringing bell signaling the O/M/I markers. (Y) For some reason I thought it'd have a beeping sound for the markers. (Thanks for answering the question after one and a half decade though... :) )

I didn't expect I'll get any response after many years. What a fun. All the best.
