Great video Brandon! I picked up a set of JBL GX series speakers for my corolla 50% off on black friday. Already installed the rear speakers but haven't done the front yet. This video is gonna be really helpful for that. For the rear speakers, getting a bracket set really helped me out so that I didn't have to drill any holes. Not sure if you did this or not, but if you ever experience any vibration from the rear speakers I would reccomend getting a roll of foam speaker tape to prevent that.

Definitely plan on getting some good brackets for the rear! And add some foam tape as well. Because I know the way I mounted them, they are going to rattle soon!

Also if you are splicing into speaker wires it's very important to match polarities correctly...positive to positive, negative to negative, any mismatch can significantly reduced sound quality.

Yes, I made sure to keep the correct polarity with the front speaker and the tweeter!

It's called out of phase, it occurs when the sound wave is being cancelled out but the opposing speaker which is firing 180deg out of phase.

That wire for the tweeter is a little filter that filters out bass on ur tweeters that help them last a little longer!!!!

You need foam gasket rings for your speakers. They help absorb vibration which is likely what you’re hearing

Would recommend getting an AMP for those new speakers. You are now driving high power handling speakers (100wrms) with the head unit amp that can probably make 20wrmw if its lucky. You will find you will clip the amp in the deck and cause distortion simply due to low power. Also recommend sound deadening the doors and sealing the speakers against the door skin with foam for a more linear sound wave. I just put a system into my 2011 corolla hatch (Total system power is 1400wrms, peak SPL recorded at 122.8db) and 100% recommend making everything as dead as you can even if this system is only casual. Check your speaker polarity, just throwing speakers in can often yield an out of phase situation which will reduce all your bass and give you a cancelled wave form effect. I really like your head unit, looks good. Also know that cheap head units tend to have cheap amps inside (Smoke comes out sooner if pushed and have higher signal to noise ratios which is not ideal). How is that turbo kit holding up? I watched the install and had some pretty deep reservations about some of the parts they supply. After seeing this, I am probably going to go with supercharging as I'm not keen to drop a fat hole into the block for a drain and the supercharging kit is far more ergonomic for the engine bay (No under motor pipe work which is a huge wtaf in my books). Thanks for all the information, I don’t know to much about the audio side of things. This definitely makes me want to upgrade to a better amp for the speakers! And for the turbo kit it has been pretty good so far. That was one of the biggest things about this I hated was drilling a hole into the engine. Lol. But if you do it correctly it shouldn’t be a problem. But I totally agree the super charger is a was easier and cleaner install for sure. But I haven’t seen any supercharger kits for the 2ZR. But I also have not looked much either. But thanks for watching the videos! Got plenty more to come!

Yep, great videos. An amp is necessary. It doesn have to be big 4x50 it would be enough really. Put some sound deadeners butyl panels and foams, it woluld be a WOW effect mid low sounds. You'll be amazed. I admire your enthusiasm, skills and that you are Brandon a hard worker.

I would recommend adding some foam on the speaker bracket and the around the speaker itself that goes up against the grille and some foam inside the door right behind the speaker

I realized that I should have added some insulation around the speakers, because now if the bass is up. I get some vibrations from some of the speakers. Definitely plan to go back and add some foam and sound deadening around the speakers!

@@BrandonStellmach that’s awesome, I got a modded 2015 Scion tc and I just added some more foam but on the back of the speakers and I definitely feel some difference with the bass being restored

Not sure about 10th gen Corolla, but for 9th gen there is a mounting bracket for the tweeter, a different plastic cover for tweeter, and also factory wiring. Thanks for the video, I will probably go with JBL also

I will have to see if there is a mounting bracket, because I bought the covers a while ago, but didn’t look into any brackets for it. Maybe there might be one to hold the tweeter in better. Will have to look. And the JBL speakers sound good compared the stock ones!

That black thing is a condenser...it filters low frequency(bass) from reaching to the tweeter and damaging it

I wanna add those door tweeters. I need to replace my front 2 speakers. I bust one and blown the other because I didn't break them in. Them 2way kickers are $80 for the front. Might go Skar next.

@@BrandonStellmach that's understandable. Of course I had to cut the holes for the tweeters because the 09 LE didn't come with them. Had to add bass blockers so I wouldn't have the distortion before that will cause them to blow

I followed every step but my rear left speaker making noise when it hit bass carck sound i guess i don't why only the rear one is giving me trouble i need your help 😭.rest of the speaker where good

That’s very weird, best thing to try is swap out the rear speakers and see if the problem is the wiring or the speaker it self. It could just be a bad speaker. Just try it in another location.

You can only change the front it you need too! They don’t need to match!

Yeah they have a good amount of bass. I think I am going to have to add some sound deadening around the speakers because now I have rattles!

Right now I can’t even spin my wheels, because my clutch is slipping. Just ordered a new clutch. Should be in within a week.

What's up man? I have a question. I have a Toyota Corolla 2013. I want to install wheels 18x8.5 225 40 r 18 but my bolts are very short. Which ones should I use or can I use spacers with what size?

I’m running the same specs on my wheels. These are the wheels and tires I have. niche m117 Misano 18x8.5 with Nankang 225 40 18 tire. And I’m using the stock studs. Not sure why your bolts are short. Maybe someone has changed them In the past?

I actually bought it off of wish. It was like 10 dollars, and to be honest it’s a really nice quality! I wish it weighed a bit more, but other then that it looks nice and feels great too! If you go find my video of me installing a bunch of wish parts you will see it in the video!

I have put the links to all the speakers and adapters I used in the description, the adapters I link are only for front speakers, I can’t find any that work for the rear ones. And for the tweeters you are goin go have to splice them into the door speakers, because the car does not normally come with tweeters.

What about the rear speaker????? I have yet to find a solitary instruction video on how to access it on the entire internet for the Prius Gen 3. Seems IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!!!!! WHY!!!!!!!!! Toyota is the crappiest hybrid ever with cryptic instructions and an extremely complicated oil change to boot.
