Wrapping the headers in titanium? you mean fiberglass heat wrap? lmao😂

Nope. It's titanium exhaust wrap (which is actually made with basalt rock), and they make both titanium and fiberglass wrap which you can choose between depending on your situation.

Love it, always for the underdog, which is usually chosen by initial looks which can be deceiving. I have a 2016 Audi A3 my wife bought with a 1.8t. But a lot of mods later, bigger turbo, APR 2+, and a bunch of other stuff, and Walla, sleeper-mode. I even left the single stock muffler routed out on the drivers side rear to attract the competition. The only thing is when I start it up, it gasps for air like I have a dragon under the hood. Keep it up.

One thing with that exhaust wrap is that you're supposed to soak it in warm water first before you apply it. It helps it conform to the piping more and when it dries it'll shrink and tight around the object. I put it on dry my first couple of times and I tried it wet and it came out much nicer.
@N4CR5
@N4CR5 2 жыл бұрын
It's great until the moisture it picks up over heat cycling rusts your headers. Pull them off and do ceramic coating inside and out and you will not need to destroy the headers by rusting them with a wrap.

@@samcharles1166 it traps heat in the exhaust manifolds/headers, which reduces engine bay temperatures and increases exhaust gas speeds. For the cost it is one of the best upgrades you can do to gain performance. The draw back is that it will reduce the life of your exhaust manifold/headers.

Lucky you, there's probably fifty 98 Accords, per every one person who wants to buy a 98 Accord. Your options should be plentiful, and priced to sell. AND, likely with enough wiggle room in the price to pay for the oil change it so desperately needs, the burnt out side marker bulb and minimum of three interior bulbs needing replaced as well... At least one is behind your gauge cluster, certainly. A brand new set of discount tires cheapest rubber, and maybe even a new clutch because you're not a pansy and got a manual version. I said... You're not a pansy... And got a manual version.... Good. I thought I had heard you say yes sir.

Rule of thumb is 1.6xD for thread engagement (D being bolt thread diameter), this varies depending on thread pitch, diameter, loading & material but anything less than D is asking for trouble.

For f23a guys, besides being able to use k20 pistons, you can also use j30a pistons, for f23a valve spring upgrade, use j32a2 valve springs. for a +1mm valve upgrade for f23a, use j30a4 valves. j30a4 valves in a ported f23a heads will flow 300cfm. F23A>H22a
@danielnelson4881
@danielnelson4881 2 жыл бұрын
You can't get an H22 head to flow the same/better if you mod it as well? I know zero about any of that stuff so I'm not saying you're wrong. On the contrary, I'm just going to have to assume you're right because, like I said, I have noooooo clue! Haha
@danielnelson4881

Wait a minute... You're not comparing a single cam motor to a dual cam motor, and stating that the single cam is the better motor just because the head "technically" has the ability to flow more air... Are you? Will it actually flow more useable air to the cylinders for combustion? I'm gonna have to go with likely not... Exhaust will obviously suffer as well.. I don't think I even need to mention the fact that the power curve on a DOHC motor will absolutely *DUNK ON* the curve of the single cam, all the way up to a higher redline. Maybe you were joking... DOHC > SOHC, always. Still, if you had the F laying around, it'll likely make a great build that's somewhere in the vicinity of what the H would make. If I had to pick one over the other though, H22 > F23

@@danielnelson4881 f23a is better because it's cheaper to make power with and has less isues. like the h22 spiining main and rod bearings.

@@michaelelliott3456 This I did not know. The F23 really has stouter bearings than the H22? That comes as something of a surprise to me! Don't get me wrong, I love the builds that go off the beaten path, and use weird stuff. Especially when it's just using what ya got, and making it work for ya. Putting a little pep in the step of the car your uncle sold ya for cheap when you got your first job, or whatever the case may be haha. I just thought for sure there was a reason why people were using H22's as the budget alternative to the K. If there was another abundant, cheaper (apparently), and now I'm hearing a better motor, in more than one way? It was here all along, what's everyone doing!? Something is wrong with that picture if you ask me. People gravitate to things that make sense. They don't go with an option when there's an alternative that's, not only cheaper, but it's better too... Guys are out there building absolutely everything. Word would have caught on, and the F23 would have spread like the wildfire that the H22 is, instead. So I'm a bit skeptical, I must say. Though I'm not outright saying anyone is wrong. At least we have yet for someone to just state their opinion (I can't remember if there's been multiple people or if I'm just talking to one guy lmao) and flat out call it true, on the grounds that, "because they said so, and trust them, they know." Everyone appears to have at least provided some kind of compelling evidence to support their claims and I really appreciate that to be honest, I love learning new things. Just reading a stated opinion from some overly confident, overly opinionated, friendless loser, with a severe lacking of any real world knowledge.. That gets us nowhere! Plus, there's only room for *one* unknowledgeable, friendless A-hole, PER COMMENT THREAD!! ....and I fulfill that quota immediately, upon entering the conversation. All right! That was my incredibly drawn out, boring AF comment that could have been one tenth this length... I didn't get any sleep last night, I've had covid for the last not quite a week, and my brain has the hustle of a garden snail currently, and not the Ryan Reynolds snail... Turbo! That was it, yeah not that snail, a much slower one. Remembering my own middle name would give the ole brain a real workout at the moment. Anyway... Shutting up now.

@@danielnelson4881 not only does f23a heave 5mm larger diameter bearing but the main girdle setup is revised and stronger. they don't have starvation issues like the h22. you can put a h22 head on a f23a block. I have done this but now days I just stick with f23a heads. too good and too cheap to replace. h22 head can easily see 300cfm. that's just a good mark to hit for any 90s-2000s style head.
