The time has come! I put some final touches onto the Turbo LS caravan 5.3, and get it running! Here's a link to the Live feed where I went live for the first time to fire it up. It sounds awesome!

I've been in the process of putting a 5.2 magnum in my 88 caravan I've for 4 years I'm 16 building it out of my dads backyard. Engine finally went in for the first time last night

For that o2 sensor bung oil drain plug, try and find a copper washer, or rubber or plastic washer that fits on it. Should seal up any leaks or slow weeping that might be happening. Oil leaks on an engine you worked on are annoying.

Good idea!! I was gonna put rtv on it but I didn’t want to have it all nasty like that. We have plastic oil pan washers here at Carquest so I’ll pick one up. Thanks man. And I hate oil leaks so much haha

I’m planning on doing a complete drivetrain overhaul on my 2010 Grand Caravan SXT with 234,000 miles. My plan is swapping in a 6.7 Cummins, Allison 1000 transmission, front and rear axle from a RAM 2500 with 4wd, and 22.5” Alcoa semi rims (no duals in the back). I already have a radiator from a RAM 1500 in it, because it needed to be replaced anyway.

I know this is a couple days behind. Saw your live cranking this weekend. Got the intercooler plumbed in yet? Any plans for the first outing?

Yeah I had a couple other videos scheduled and didn’t want to bunch them all up early in the week lol. I don’t have the Intercooler done yet, I’m working on a harness for a buddy right now then I’ll be back at the van in a couple days. Burnout competition is really creeping up fast so I need to have it moving under its own power in less than a month

I have a 97 ES 3.3L and I've been trying to scour the net trying to find performance mods I can do to it. Looking at possibly reprogramming the computer and a few other things. So far this seems to be the only video I've come across of someone actually doing something with one of these things.

Welp, id love to have some advice for you regarding the 3.3 but it seems the only thing I know is to pull it out hahaa Although, I would suggest putting a turbo on it 🤪

How did you match up all the electronics to existing Chrysler pcm etc to make it run?

I actually ran the engine electronics and body electronics separately. The engine runs on the Chevy pcm and I just found the 12v wire from the key to turn the pcm on and off. Chrysler has “tip-start” which I couldn’t get to work with the engine, so I just use a push button starter

That sounds amazing! I’d seriously love to have something like this built for mine, not many people willing to do this kind of work. Did you use the original transmission and what did you use for programming?

I appreciate it 🙂 I used a 5 speed manual initially, but now I have a 4L80E in it and i love it! I use hptuners for programming and tuning

@@StationroadRatrods Awesome, thanks for sharing! I used to love manual, but my body is very limited due to my military injuries. So, now I’m stuck with our ‘16 R/T for it’s accessibilities, and have invested lots of time making it more of a street racer look with decent V6 performance (mainly b/c there’s nothing for these); but no one really want to do a quality high-end V8 build for it in the Southwest.

@@StationroadRatrods …also, how do you like hptuners? I saw they became available a couple of years ago, but idk about being without a computer for two weeks nor much about programming beyond BullyDog. Have you tried a transmission plug-in tuner (don’t know the real name of one)

First off, thanks for your service, sorry you got injured. There’s a group of people have those modified on Facebook, vankulture is one group. You can make these vans look and perform awesome! I bet yours is sweet 🤘

I'm just finding this video but I like this! Got a bit worried with that turbo inlet right behind the radiator fill neck w/o the cap on. Would hate to see it suck up water after all that effort!

Thanks! And definitely, I hope the cap never fails haha it’s gonna be a bad time. Is in saying that, I did hit 270 degrees at a burnout competition, boiled it over hardcore and the cap didn’t blow off haha

Maybe! a “V”shaped guard would deflect most of the water, could stop it from hydro locking. Thanks for the suggestion. I appreciate it dude!

I really can't believe what I just watched.. Now if someone from Dodge can just figure out how to do this with the 6.4 hemi, I would be happy.. I own a 2014 G.C and a 2020 Pacifica. You are amazing, I wanna see it make some passes.

Thanks man :) just imagine how savage the hemi with a turbo or blower would be, my gods. As soon as the 6.0 and 80e are finished up it’ll be making some passes for sure! Hopefully in a couple weeks time

Haha that’s awesome :) there’s a ton of videos to check out for sure, I haven’t skipped a step from beginning to end. I did redo a couple things like engines, transmissions etc but I tried not to make repeat videos

Hey man I made up my own mounts for everything, I used solid engine mounts and the rear diff is an 8.8 from an old f150

It wasn’t actually too bad, I had to trim some of the firewall to make room for the transmission, and the floor had to be cut out to accommodate the driveshaft

@StationroadRatrods so after that that all you had to do was make support for the rear end and was u able to u the original subframe ... I really thanks for the info

@zaethemechanic4913 anytime at all. I used the stock mounting points for the rear diff and made up my own brackets For the front subframe it took a LOT of modification, but i did use the sections with the control arm mounting points for the front.

"A ban should not sound like this..." except for in my area...vans sound like this quite a bit. Then again they have a severe misfire and are missing half the exhaust. Around where I'm at, most of us call them "tweaker cars" but those drivingthem callv them "home".

Not a whole lot really, I fabricated everything and the only real cost was some steel and the cost of putting new gaskets into the engine. I never kept any receipts so I can’t say how much total

It was yup! Kevin Piper has a GM van that he put an LS4 into. Can’t remember if it was a a montana or venture but he made it look absolutely factory. It’d be so much easier than the route I went that’s for sure

Nah I converted it to RWD with a 4L80E and an 8.8. I had a manual in it first, but i couldn’t get the clutch pedal to work very well due to space restrictions
