So, how did you calculate a turbo from a 2 liter motor would be the right choice for a 1/2 liter? When would it ever begin to spool?

+Warner Bauer in my humble opinion, Harley wouldn't be able to keep up with the rest of the performance bike industry, and their general demographic wouldn't be interested. Most Harley folk want the name, the sound, and the look. They did a decent job with the v-rod, but you don't see many on the road because for the same price, you can get a better bike. I think they have a partnership with Buell motorcycles, which is a performance bike, so it isn't really in HDs best interest to make one with the HD name.

I have to first start off my saying the bike looks awesome and slick as well. With that being said the only critique I may have would be on the welds done. Being a welder as a profession and career, GTAW AKA TIG is no easy task. It really takes away from the amazing look that was established in the build. Wont be able to see it going down the highway but only parked on display grabbing a brew with the boys at the local bike night. Awesome just non the less.

Not sure if you guys are aware that a twin cylinder engine requires a large air plenum between the turbo and the intake manifold. This is because the intake strokes are only every 360 degrees of a crank rotation. If you don't have it you can have problems with fuel control due to the pulsating airflow.

@EhPlusSimRacing
@EhPlusSimRacing 8 жыл бұрын
+Terry Moore a stock (1983-85) vt500c has 49.9 BHP @ 9,000rpm (hitting red line) max torque is 30.58 ft-lbs at 7,000rpm. One of the best performing stock 500cc cruiser engines ever. most cruisers like a low rpm, this one loves higher revs. I have no idea what their mods would deliver for performance.

That turbo is way to big for an engine with that displacement, a GT15 is intended for a 1800cc engine, I can't imagine it being very effective on a 500cc twin.
@themotochannel

On first glance the design is awesome. But yeah you guys definitly need a lot more knowledge to pull off a build like this. Not an expert welder here by no means: but as many said before those welds are really really ugly. As a non expert welder, I could even probably do a better job, and that says a lot. What I also do not understand is why for simple break lines at the front there has not been chosen for braided stainless ones. That's a must have upgrade even if you wouldn't have replaced the front end for you know: better handling, suspension, and ehm... braking performance with those huge ventilated discs and modern calipers.

whos blind grandma did those welds and why didnt they powder coat the frame, grips are held together with zip ties, very poor quality. they should have purchased an engine seperately and totally built a frame around it, considering they pretty much built a bike but kept the platform of an old engine
@coldfuzion14
@coldfuzion14 7 жыл бұрын
I like the idea but, did you have a small inexperienced child lay the welds? I would not pay for this work.looks like the front tire and the intercooler kiss each other from time to time. not good. someone with very little mechanical ability and enough research could build a better bike. step it up, please.
