"Easy to work on" my ass. Coming from being a Ford technician, I havent seen a worse design on my 11 ctsv trying to do spark plugs on cylinders 7/8. Installed an AEM air/fuel gauge the other day and getting to the O2 sensor connectors alone are a headache... but at the end of the day at 650 rear wheel, it makes up for being a p.i.t.a.

@Mmmyess Its honestly sad, in my opinion a CTS-V is a cheaper and much more reliable BMW M5. You get the power of a corvette in a comfortable Sedan. Enough power to have fun and the comfort to take the family out for dinner. Plus GM is 10 times easier to work on and doesn't have the factory installed oil leaks that plague BMW and Mercedes not to mention the crazy prices Germans want for parts.

Me and the wife were returning from a road trip driving through Nashville in the Camaro when a Lambo Porsche and CTS-V shot past. We hopped in line for a while until they got tired of us coming too and shot off lol .

Cadillac is GM, but if you mean car as a general term and not passenger sedan the c4 zr1 corvette was GM’s testing bed for magnetic ride control back in the early 90’s

Magnetic ride control was introduced in 1992 on the Seville STS equipped with Stabilitrak. I believe it was also available on the 1992 Eldorado ETC. They were expensive struts, but they worked really well and were generally reliable. I had a 1998 Seville SLS that had magnetic ride also.

And I absolutely hate the magnetic ride control on my XLR. The shocks start leaking very quickly and cost allot to replace. I just replaced mine with Bilsteins and it rides like a dream.

I have a 2008 STS with magnetic ride... no problems and I love it.

Do dey sound like true v8s bcuz i hear alot of people say they dont sound as loud or aggressive by them being v6s turbocharged??? I was thinkin about savin sum $ n getting 1 n just do a few mods but i been looking for a 16' to 19' cts v dey putting out 650 hp stock a little higher price but i wouldnt have 2 do nothing but add a cold air intake, cold temp plugs, n exaust n still leave n gap 95% wateva car i run across on the streets

Fumble the ball five yards in front of the goal line. They've been doing this for decades. Do you remember the old GM 2.4 l quad 4 banger? Back in the '80s, they put three turbos on that thing put it in the car that look like a silver cockroach, and set a land speed record. Same motor that everybody talk crap about and said was a piece of junk.. only because GM never finished making it great and maximizing the potential and capabilities.. instead, they settle for a bad reputation worldwide. Who the f is in charge there? How can someone get paid to f things up ? Lol. I don't know I don't mean to rant but damn it I know what you're talking about.

The blackwing motor was a test bed for the c8 zr1

@@josephdominics5935 Well the Quad 4 would eventually become the Ecotec. It wasn't a junk motor, as much as it was planted into a bunch of junky cars. That's always been GM's problem since they went to the predominant transverse platforms.

700whp is rough to get to unless you're going hybrid turbos, and then it's a waiting game for when your main bearings or rod bearings are going to give up. I'm running on a low boost tune right now to sit pretty in the low 500s. Max effort tune on E85 was 628HP/666ftlbs of torque for about $2k invested between the fuel pump cam, HPFP internals, LT4 LPFP, Flex Sensor, Downpipes and a tune.

@@seolwoopark2608 Challenger Hellcats did come in a manual, TR-6060. They’re just a ton slower than the 8 Speed.

I have an XTS VSport and its a great DD cruiser, a basic 93 tune puts it around 450-460hp and it has every option I need including AWD. Its very big and heavy and FWD based though so it is not a handling machine, but considering I got it for $14k with 70k miles I really can't complain about it. I'd love to get my hands on an STS-V with the northstar supercharged V8, those things are so cool.

I'm pretty sure the C8 Z06, and upcoming CR ZR1 and Zora do/will do a pretty good job competing in the super/hypercar segment. Z06 even is a confirmed Ferrari beater when it outran the 458 it benchmarked against.

@@arc00ta I'm in love with ALL V's....Especially the blackwings. I'm not even a mechanic but even i know those northstar engines were TRASH.

@@EliteOnTheBeat but if you knew anything about the rear drive Northstar you know that they didn't have issues. I had an sts v and now I share the same car you have as I understand which is a CTS-V sport. I actually sold the STS V to pay down my loan for my v-sport. The only reason I sold that car was fuel mileage

Yeah it is super high torque and low speed engine tho, Chevy didn’t design it bc they where working on the lt6 and lt7 at GM and contracted it out to FEV
