i run two exmark 30's with the kawi engines. Had them since the Ex 30's came out. My tip for you is this: turn the fuel off at the end of each lawn and run them out of gas. At next stop, turn them back on and restart. That has solved MOST of the carb issues for me. By doing that, I have prevented most of the flooding issues, and because fuel is off at the end of each day, it also prevents issues with gummy carbs when they sit for any length of time between mowings.

Can't wait for the one, two and three year reviews. I want to know how they hold up in the long run when crews are using them.

Good review and on point in regard to the Time master. I was looking at an HDX with Kohler but ended up going with the Kawasaki. My dealer commented that a lot of what they're seeing in the shop most often now are Kohler powered units. If I need more power than the Kawasaki can deliver, I do have the Gravely PT 452 on the trailer. The 52 will handle just about any lawn I throw at it aside from gates and fenced yards. On an overgrown lawn, the 52 does the first pass and the 30 HDX does the finish. Works well for me and very efficient as a solo operator. Very little I wouldn't or couldn't tackle efficiently with this combination. Also, when it comes to dealers, I find they'll tell you whatever necessary to steer you in the direction of the machine they want to move at that moment in time (surplus inventory, dated inventory, etc). Better to check reviews online in independent forums.

Thanks for reviews. I own Teacher’s Grass, Garden and Grounds, llc in Louisiana and lost my 32” proline and and looking to purchase a 30” cutter. I’m glad to hear your professional information about the all 3 levels. Thanks again.

I've been running Timemaster's since they came out. I had a helper bought a second one for them. 60" cutting small lawns is just awesome. I'm completely solo now. I've made some videos about Timemaster's and early issues etc. I run equipment for high hours. If I had a crew or multiple crews, I wouldn't trust them with the Timemaster. Employees will rag equipment out. Just a fact. Those mowers will give you less trouble. I've done demos with them. I like the Timemaster weight, handle adjustment and height. I truly have no issues going up hills. I drive mine up ramps to my Chevy 2500 that seats high. I've had cables ware out. Usually after a season and half. As far as bogging down. The original 190cc I had to make adjustments and it did ok. When I wore that engine out, I put the B&S 223cc on it and never have issues at all. Also during thick grass season low lift mulching blades are night and day. I'm excited about Ballard coming out with the dual blades for the mowers soon. Mulching will go to a whole new level. This is a great video. Good information. Thanks for taking the time share and show the difference between models and engines...

I've had great luck with Kohler engines and of course I'd rather have the Turfmaster over the Timemaster. I only cut my own yard though I've cut commercially in the past. You get used to overbuilt, and it's hard to go back.

I had the exmark 30 since they came out and sold them this year as they we’re getting old. Loved the Exmark besides the high maintenance requirements. This year switched to toro turfmaster and don’t like how they drive. Transmission if either too soft or too jerky…tried messing around with cable adjustment but can’t find an easy drive speed modulation. One more reason to get off the truck 😝

Great video with great insight into these mowers. I’m a residential homeowner with a small yard and I’ve had a 21 inch on a push mower for years. I can get a used turf master with a Kohler engine that is two years old for 1499 the same price as a new time master. Any advice on which way to go for a residential user?
@LawnThumbs
@LawnThumbs Жыл бұрын
If the turf master was only used 1 day for 1 house a week then that would possibly be ok price but if it was used commercially; No ($500-800 value) If you have a small yard 5k sq ft or less I would buy a new 21” commercial mower Honda or toro I would lean towards the Honda. My company uses toro push mowers because they are built tough with minimum switches and things that typically break with employees. But I love the Honda 21 cuts. (Double blade is great for mulching) If you have a big yard the turf master may be the way to go but still may be too beefy or too much mower for a residential once a week job.

We had the turf master, like dragging a lead pot around all day. no reverse, heavy, always something wrong with it. purchased an fw 15 and it was sluggish, some adjusting on the hydro linkage and that thing will climb a wall- quick, turns easily and HAS REVERSE, stripes like a boss. I have an accelerator that fits perfectly. biggest draw back is always the gas tank is just too small.

Great video Freddie....have you been using your stump grinder attachment? Wondering if it’s worth the investment
@LawnThumbs
@LawnThumbs 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, and yes I have used the stump grinder on a few different jobs and it’s not really that awesome. But if you’re getting the bobcat and financing it it’s not really a bad investment. We just can’t really stump out more than about 12 inches below surface with that machine. I mean you can go down deeper but it’s not really made for that. What I don’t really like about the stump grinder is that it’s really slow going. Takes hours for each stump. But maybe we’re just not that good at it yet but I have rented stump grinders that are faster in the past.

@@LawnThumbs Ok thanks... I have always use the honda hrx217 and have had probably 7 of them the last 6 years. The first mower I I used was a toro super recycler that if I was correct was 20 years old when I got it in 2016. It was old but probably the best toro I have ever used. I had another super recycler that I also got use from a homeowner which was almost new except of the carb problem that I replace but still believe the old one was much better. I just wonder if the current price today is worth it, also my helper may have problem handling the turfmaster but somehow i still might want one.
