Back around Christmas, I spotted a Girsan MC1911S Gov't size for $450, after shipping and transfer fees. Couldn't really pass up on that deal. 300 rounds in and plenty of dry fire in for the M45A1 CQBP clone, it's a great gun. If you want something to abuse and run through the wringer and back, this is the way to go. It should be noted that for that great price, one does give up some refinement. It has loosened up and the slide action is buttery smooth. The slide does rattle like a maraca, but hey if ya don't mind, that's just more of the real combat-pistol experience. I've small hands, and while the factory grips were fine, I did switch them out for some slimmer magpuls. Some have complained on the 1911 forums of the MC1911 shooting low, but with those combat sights, a higher sight combat sight hold should be used, and it shoots a 3" circle at 10 yards for me, and I'm a shit pistol shot. If one is used to aiming with a lower sight hold, Dawson Precision has a solution for that. The extractor was a little too loose-I was getting some stove-piping in the first 150 rounds-so I learned how to tune that extractor a bit tighter, via youtube in 5 minutes. The finish is not something that will hold up; it'll get scratched, rubbed, worn down, etc. pretty easily around the corners and will look like a battle-worn pistol in no time. But, hey, I don't care if I drop it in the dirt, bang it on a corner, you name it, the thing is FUNCTIONALLY fantastic. Post 200-round break-in-down to the cwhispy trigger break-in spirit, it's combat 1911, made to be affordable. If you're still reading and wondering how it's so cheap and don't mind a mini-micro-economics lesson: The Purchasing Power Parity conversion factor between Turkey and The US, according to The World Bank is 4.61 (2022). Short version: Your US $ goes far in Turkey, a fellow NATO country (and their Beretta 92 clone is also NATO approved). Girsan makes more than decent guns, especially for the money. And your significant other won't be as angry for spending as much money.

Very well said. Not to mention all Turkish manufacturers have made vast improvements over the last couple of years

I'd love too see more reviews of the tisas 10mm 1911. I'd definitely upgrade some parts but they seem solid

I got a Girsan untouchable with the 3.25" barrel in 9mm. Runs smooth and no ftf or fte. Trigger is crisp but a tad heavy. After I get 4 or 500 rounds through it I'll decide if I want to adjust the spring.

I just got the untouchable mc1911c in 9mm, there is a small bit of movement between the slide and frame but no rattling when I shake the gun. Feels very smooth, more so than a Rock Island Armory does out of the box

The untouchable looks nice. The funny thing is I got one rock island that is tight as heck. I think the big thing is these cheaper 1911 manufacturers have a wide range of tolerances that are acceptable to them. So some are tight some are looser. Idk barrel lockup seem most important to me. I had an sig 320 that was looser than any of my 1911s and shot great. I guess it depends on needs. Competition it for sure matters, self defense and plinking not at all. Reliability is most important, and as we have learned with the ak , loose sends bullets down range

I looked at both. Like you say, the Tisas has tighter rail/slide fit. I think they do a better job with the finish, too. What really turned me off to Girsan is that "Waring Read Safety Manual" they put on their pistols. Come on, Girsan... really??? All 3 of my Tisas look and run great - Stingray Carry in 9mm is my favorite.

I got my girsan for $415 definitely worth it I got it in the black finish, which hasn’t scratched or anything because I keep my guns nice and the finish looks pretty decent I wanted to just get a 1911 to have one. It shoots flawlessly. But what’s weird about mine It’s a little tighter than what he was showing and I got mine a month ago so I don’t know if they fixed that or maybe his is just not tight from factory

Ya idk I mean I like the finish on mine, the looseness could be a result of a wide quality tolerance range, ie : some come loose some are tight, and there can be. Bunch of examples in between. That said it can be loose and shoot very good. Accuracy is only factor I can think of where it would be better to be tighter.

Tisas is better of the 2. I got a used Girsan 4.25” used for $200. Complete garbage. Needed chamber and feed ramp polished. Replaced every spring with Wilson combat spring set and had to polish the rails. Now it finally functions reliably. If I paid more than $200 I would have been more annoyed. Basically I ended up with someone else’s problem child
