Turmeric and coffee both have so many health benefits including antioxidant and any-inflammatory properties that can protect against many chronic diseases including heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, and some forms of cancer.

You MUST add black pepper to get the full 200% more benefit from the Turmeric! Otherwise, you are wasting a beneficial drink.

This looks awesome! I use almond milk too as I have a family history of Cancer and need to avoid the estrogen and BLV in dairy. Thanks for sharing

Are you only suppose to drink one cup of this in the morning? Or Can you drink a second Cup?

You can definitely drink a second cup for extra health benefit. Just be mindful if you are sensitive to caffeine. Additionally, some people may have experience upset stomach if they are not used to consuming turmeric. Hope this helps!

I recommend adding a little bit of ground black pepper and Fat in it for absorption like Olive oil, coconut oil, or ghee. Turmeric is fat soluble. That means it dissolves in fat and not water. Enhance Absorption: The black pepper and fat (coconut oil or ghee) help enhance the absorption of curcumin, the active compound in turmeric, which has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Now, combining it with ground black pepper as well may help increase your body's ability to absorb turmeric's beneficial compounds. A substance in black pepper called piperine, when combined with curcumin, has been shown to increase bioavailability by 2000%.

Hi there, I wonder if any tests have been done to see if coffee destroys the turmeric, just curious as I have been drinking it in warm water with black pepper. ❤

From what I’ve researched, coffee doesn’t destroy it but the acid in coffee does decrease the absorption of curcumin (active ingredient in turmeric). But adding black pepper helps to increase absorption so hopefully this counteracts and helps even out the absorption factor. Adding to water with black pepper is great as well!

Great question. With 8 ounces of coffee and 8 ounces of almond milk, I add 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and 1/8 teaspoon of ground black pepper. Then a little honey and vanilla to taste. 😊

The spice mixture I add does include black pepper along with turmeric and cinnamon. I have never tried this recipe with olive oil but feel free to experiment!

You can visit the website to see the full recipe post. Here are the amounts I used: 8 fl. oz. black coffee 8 fl. oz. almond milk unsweetened 1 tsp ground turmeric ¼ tsp ground cinnamon ⅛ tsp ground black pepper ¼ tsp vanilla extract 2 Tbsp honey
