I discovered this tutorial quite by accident, but exactly at the right time! I made this up in less than 30 minutes. I did not use cardboard and the tin foil (I couldn't find cardboard at home) but I did have some left over thermal batting, 3 layers of cotton batting, no bias tape so I took off a nice and thick salvage strip and done! Thank you so much for this tutorial.

Just the tutorial I was looking for! I whipped one up in no time using scrap material and batting. I had everything on hand that I needed. No cost and very handy! Thanks Misty and Missouri Star for another great project!!

Thank you! I watched this video a few weeks ago. Then I made an ironing top for my TV tray. The only change I made was to put 1/4" elastic in rather than making a tie. It works great! Now I can easily remove the top if it requires a trip to the washer. Great video! Thanks for the great idea!

Thank you so much for showing this. I have to make tablecloths for our camping tables, I was going to make them another way more fussy sewing and dreaded Velcro but now that idea is tossed and I am going to be very happy in my sewing room whipping tablecloth draws just like this. Love from Australia

I used elastic instead of a draw string. Works for me as it seems easier to get it off and on. I have another which is double sided and has insulbrite between the layers I take to retreats and fits over my small outdoor bbq table. I need some of the Tula fabric though so a new cover is now on the to do list! Thanks for the great tutorial.

What a neat idea. I had a thought from this. I would like to iron right next to my sewing machine so I am going to try making your ironing board idea but with a wooden cutting board from the kitchen. We have too many and this would make a good use for one.-- I hope it works. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for this video! I really needed one of these next to my sewing machine. I made one tonight and it was so quick and easy. I had leftover shoelaces from making masks, so I tied two together to use for a drawstring. The little plastic thing (aglet) at the end of the shoelace acted as a safety pin, making it easy to thread through the casing.

Thrift Shops are a great place to locate just one TV table. Many times they are stained, etc. So if you know the people who work there, ask them to be on the lookout for one and call you when it comes in! I manage a church thrift shop and have sent many of these out the door to recycle - I'll snag the next good one that comes in to make this table! Thanks for the tutorial. I'm a "new" quilter who has been bitten by the "bug"!

Yes the thrift stores always have them, and they are so cheap. Went to the goodwill last month and saw a bunch of tv trays as low as $2.99 ea. I will definitely have to pick one up next time I’m there.

Wow I didn't see the original video but I needed a pressing table that didn't take up too much space in my sewing corner so I covered a wood TV tray and with batting and a double layer of an old cotton sheet. I stapled the sheet to the underside of the tv table. I love this idea removable cover so much better!! If I ever need the tv tray again it would be easy to "un-do"
