This is awesome to know. I have about 18 lbs. of rebatch and I didn't want to make that much clumpy, mashed potato type, rustic bars... this helps a lot! I will be trying this soon!

Hello!! Can we omit the glycerine in the solvents? could it help the base not to sweat? Some recipes include arrowroot powder to prevent sweating? Have you tried? Many thanks! (BTW, great recipe, great video!! Thanks!! total success!!)
@TheSoapChef
@TheSoapChef 9 ай бұрын
Yes, you can totally omit the glycerin and just use the propylene glycol and or the sorbitol. My recipe has never sweated, so no, I have no need to use the arrowroot, but go ahead and give it a try and see how it goes. That’s the beauty of creating. There’s no one way to do things.

Quick question: If you use propylene glycol and glycerin, is the sorbitol a required addition?
@TheSoapChef
@TheSoapChef 2 жыл бұрын
No it's not, you can actually stop at the glycerin if you want. If you don't have sorbitol, you can make "simple sugar" and use that, it's basically the same thing.
@MsAubrey
@MsAubrey 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheSoapChef Okay. Good to know. I have propylene glycol and glycerin, but not sorbitol. That's why I asked. I've had that propylene glycol for a while and used barely any of it... so at least I know what I can use it on now. 😁
@TheSoapChef
@TheSoapChef 2 жыл бұрын
@@MsAubrey you bet. Just leave the sorbitol out if you want. Hi make a solution of equal portions of every one of those ingredients and then I just use enough necessary to get the soap liquefied enough to be pourable.

I love you sweety and this looked like such a fun experiment, but my mind kept wondering why you took something that smelled like baby urk and made it into something that looked like baby poo!! LOL Sorry! My brain is a fickle friend!! 😅🤣
@TheSoapChef
@TheSoapChef 2 жыл бұрын
Hahahahaha, good eye…… afterwords, I thought the exact same thing. But honestly, the new melt and pour soap doesn’t smell at all which was very surprising. Normally you can smell ever so slight of a chemical smell from the solvents but not in this. There’s no smell whatsoever.
@DD47N1

@@TheSoapChef It's really cool that the scent disappeared like that! Definitely one to remember if I ever get off my duff to make soap and have some 'questionable' smelling batches!! 😁

Hi there, great video! Can we add fragrance to the newly made melt and pour, and at what ratio, is it different than CP soap and IFRA.guidlines? I purchased a ready made M&P and it said max FO is 3%. If the CP soap going to used to make M&P already has FO is it safe to add more? Thanks so much! I’m desperately trying to create a nice strong caramel scented soap and can’t seem to have any luck with CP soap🤪
