The "hip movement the way a woman walks" is a great analogy. One question though, would this cause the hips to sort of lock up on the backswing and the right leg to excessively straighten? Or is this the desired outcome? I've always had a problem with too little hip turn on the backswing, so anything correct this is welcomed.

Yes the right leg straightens..and then left leg for setting a post . feel ankles rolling or semi marching with knee movement..
