Motorola Ready For is in many ways better than DeX. It will give you the option to choose between Streaming, Gaming, Desktop or Screen mirroring. Moto Ready For also natively supports 4k60 without the need to download any ancillary apps to support it, like you do on Samsung through Good Lock.

I use Dex everyday and I wish I had more experience with the Moto Ready. It sounds nice. Dex is cool and useful but very limiting. It clearly is not being used by that many people and Samsung doesn't care to add new features or improve it anymore. Wish that would change. It needs so much more.

@Jorge.ALXNDR Samsung has been making progress. While it's a great feature on phones. I think Samsung has been more focused on their tablets, as the position them as laptop alternatives

I'm old enough to remember the 30 pin connector Apple used on iPods and the first few generations of iPhones. I think it was the iPhone 5 that switched to Lightning. At the time lots of people were angry that all their accessories, docks primarily, would no longer be able to be upcycled to their next iPhone. They say that history doesn't repeat; but, it often rhymes.

I never leave comments on vids, but I've had the dock for about a year and have done a lot of testing with it. It is a basic fan .5 w fan that blows air through the front facing vent (where the phone connects). It is not like the newer "semi-conductor" phone coolers which have "refrigeration cooling" and does not get ice cold. The dock fan only turns on when the dock detects that the heat on the physical dock has reached a certain threshold (I'm talking super hot), as there is a thermocouple inside the dock that triggers the fan (there is no onboard pcb that receives temperature readings from the phone). From a cooling perspective, you would want the fan to be on at all times to prevent your phone getting exceptionally hot and modern phone games, app streaming and can get a phone hot in minutes depending on the workload. Ultimately this product would be great if the fan cooling was not passive. While the design is very sleek and modular, the main selling point of this dock is a built-in fan. I do think this product falls short in the cooling aspect. Hope this helps. I'm a big moto fan and got this dock second hand for very cheap.

It's not mirroring an S23, it lets you use DeX. It also has a cooling fan.

Most USB-C monitors will have built-in USB hubs already which this would tap into. This just gives you a convenient way to mount the phone and cool it.

Galaxy S8. Now you can pick one for like peanuts, and still got the dex if that's all you want. If battery is still worrying for you, get the S8 Active for a bit more.

Nope google pixels dont have the hardware to do it . But the pixel 8 does but they have it disabled probably until their desktop mode is ready to launch which may not launch until android 15 .
