In this video, Steve explains how to mark the grain orientation, what is the best practice for turning a bowl, how to position your tool rest and how to take the first cuts with the Hurricane - Rougher Carbide Tool. Steve goes over every step, in details, while turning the outside of the bowl. After rough turning the blank, Steve switches to the Hurricane - Finisher Carbide Tool to smooth out the edges and shape the outside of the bowl. In this video, you'll notice Steve's meticulous attention to detail, aimed at providing you with the best comprehensive assistance. Steve is using the Full-Size tools, but The Woodturning Store also offers Mid-Size and three different Hollowers. You will also see Steve using a Hurricane Tool Rest, which we recently came out with.
