I slept in mine every night over a 5000km trip in March. I find it very comfortable. I set up a 3x3 marquee over over the car so I can get in and out without getting rained on. Having the option is a bit of a life saver when there is too much wind or rain for tent camping. I'll use my swag now though so I don't need to pack and unpack everyday but for one night or an emergency it's a great option.

Hi. Thanks for the tip. This would be on our bucket list. I'd like to share a tip. We've set up a roof rack and awning attachments. Bought a couple folding chairs and a table. Looking forward to a pop up shower tent and a portable shower... soon. Let me know if I can share our video.

I saw that you can buy and air mattress ( Ali express) that fits into the Jimmy, you should review that one, would be very cool

I love it! I’ve also just got a storage compartment for between the passenger and drivers seat which is also great!

While it is possible to flatten all the seats and have a type of bed in the Jimny, that is a nasty compromise and a guarantee for a horrible night you will remember for a long, long time, There is nothing wrong with small tent, an inflatable hiking mattress and a sleeping bag. My preferred option is a small teardrop trailer towed by the Jimny since I prefer to sleep in something that is locked securely from the inside, offers privacy and protection from bugs and on top of it has a decent mattress and a bed that is ready made for climbing into.

Yeah, build a small flatbed light trailer, hot dip galvanize it, 4mx1,8m, weighs 120kg, with a couple of big lockable fibreglass boxes bolted internally onto the flatbed , for versatility. A retractable awning, then one is all good to go. Its nuts tryna make the Jimny carry loads of bulky stuff, use a trailer

I'm going on a huge road trip with my family tmr, we will be hiking and in the mud and my family has like those mom cars or family cars they won't be able to have as much fun as my dad, mom and me 🧍 but I'm a road trip sleeper so i need to have a space to sleep

I found that you can actually unclip the rear seatbelts. They have velcro tie downs to get them out of the way.

Unfortunately, in the LCV version the front seats don't go flat with the load area. It's a shame as they clearly thought a lot about it being able to be done in the 4-seater.

I've been trying to find a way to turn a cheap 4x4 car into a campervan for over a year now. It's all cool and nice traveling around with my Nissan Micra, but I want to sleep in some of the places that I visit, and I wish I could use my own car. However, I don't want to completely transform my tiny little car because I'm also using it for family outings and such, and it would be a nightmare to change it back to normal every second week. I've been thinking of getting a Jimny, but after watching this video, I'm not sure that it's the right car. I mean, you're probably 1.76 to 1.80, and you still can't sleep with your legs stretched in it, and I'm 1.90 so it would be a huge No... Although... I could try making a metal slide-out extension for the back part: open the door, slide the metal frame, attach the tent; but that would deduct part of the safety offered by the metal chassis and the closed doors... damn, and I really like this car...

Great idea Ellie, finally some one who looks at a car like I do, I did something very similar a few years ago with a Vauxhall corsa for when I was camping at Santa pod, didn’t fancy staying in a tent so converted my corsa and enjoyed very minute of it, iv been looking at a jimny and think they look really cool, do you have any more plans for it ?

Hey Ben! Thanks! I think it would be super handy for things like that but I wouldn’t want to sleep in it for more than 1 night in a row 😅 I’m thinking of tinting the windows and getting a ladder on the back!

There are many, many videos of Jimny bits though there are far fewer videos of the Jimny bits that are still in use six months later. I really would like to see more of the latter type of videos.

Interesting - I have a VW split-screen and a Volvo XC70. I'm thinking of trading them both in for an all-round vehicle and the Jimni is a distinct possibility. What camper does your dad have out of interest?

OOoooh I always wanted a split screen VW!! My dad has a Citroen Berlingo and he's adapted the inside quite a lot to suit him :) Im trying to get him to start a YT channel haha

Yes it’s a 69 plate! ☺️ I put my name down last October as my garage was only getting 2 in every quarter and I said I’d have a black or white one and luckily a black one came in February! 🙌🏼 shortly after I got mine they stopped producing them 😅

@@itselliem110 there a lot New Jimny in my country, most of them are Automatic. The Manual version is very rare. But i have an old Jimny too, from 96, of course it's manual.
