Rosie, Rosie, Rosie. What a breath of fresh air you are to KZfaq. I so admire your Optimism, Determination, your "Can Do" attitude, your simplicity of life but you show incredible abilities to overcome issues and deliver on your objectives. Young lady, you are a credit to yourself. Others can learn so much from your example. Well done. Oh and a very talented videographer, Editor and Narrator.

Dear Rosie, I want to thank you for taking me along on your journey.... I love very much your walks as I can now go along with you! I can no longer get out and do my own walks or rather rides as I was once an avid equestrian who explored our beautiful earth with my beloved horses. I'm now 77, have end stage COPD, and just learned I have lung cancer, so I now spend my days in bed watching KZfaq and crocheting items to gift to those who would like fuzzy hats, hand warmers, slippers or coverlets. So you are now my freedom to wander and feel nature once again and to experience joy in seeing your beautiful creations. Thank you so very much 😊!! Life must have a purpose and you have grand purpose 😊. Thank you again with all my heart ❤️ Granny L.

Hi, I live alone in northern Sweden and I've followed you from the start. At first I wondered why you didn't talk to Swedes about what was practical when it came to heating, building, clothing, etc. I'm glad I didn't write anything that could make you lose your incredible determination and admirable energy and creativity. What I admire most is your careful and precise way of planning, filming and carrying out the construction and your ability to tackle the work despite cold, adversity and probably days of discouragement/depression. Bravo Rosie, you are a true role model!

I can't imagine how much time it must take to set up drone shots like these. Schlepping for hours on a bike is bad enough without stopping halfway, unpacking a drone, setting up a program, starting it, jumping on the bike to get the shot, stop, land the drone, package everything up, and get back on the bike. Woof.
@wildrosie

Haha yup, exactly how that goes. It's sort of a blessing the drone battery doesn't last for more than 15 minutes total, so you're forced to be quick every time you use it!

It is not wool it is cotton and you buy them in the store. When you put them in you have paperstrips with glue on to close the winow off for the winter. A suggestion for your facetreatment: when it is cold outside (-15 and colder) do not wash your face in the morning, if you do you wash away the natural protection on your skin. And do not put on facecream that contains water.

There is a product called “fönstervadd”, windowfloss that you ca put between the windows to reduce condensation, i think it’s made from woodpulp. Traditionally you could also use renlav, or fönsterlav (cladonia stellaris) as well. Pick and dry during summer and put between the windows during winter. It’s quite decorative!

I think painting the little entry with so many doors all the same light color makes it feel bigger and more of an actual room....great decision. You can add your personality in other ways. I suggest you hang your drying items from the poles on clothing hangers, you will be able to hang more and wont have to reach so high. I make my own foaming hand soap with Dr Bonners...2 tablespoons of unscented Bonners with 20 drops of essential oils of choice and fill foaming dispenser with distilled water....so economical! Or you could use your tee tree scent Bonners and skip the essential oils. BTW I love your humor and also enjoyed your sharing of your beauty care. The video was so calming. Do you ever feel like crying on that long arduous trip to town and back? I think I would. Blessings to you.

It is not necessary to lay the boards indoors. It is necessary to place them above the ground, on old boards or logs; each row of boards is separated from the next through board spacers of 1-5 cm, for ventilation. And cover tightly with a tarp. Use as needed. The end of the board should be treated with paint for additional protection during long-term storage. Sorry for Google Translate :))

@@SJC49 This is her business :) but I see that she wants to bring the boards into the lttle house, and for this she needs to saw them. To avoid sawing, they can be stored outside, and if the boards are fresh (without drying), they will become better, the moisture will leave. Sorry about Google translate.

If you happen to get hold of IKEA bags or other thick sturdy shopping bags, hold on to them. You can carry wood in them and they are easily stackable. That way you can keep a stack close to home that doesn't get wet if it's bad weather. Just adjust the weight so that you can carry or drag them. I loaded my first ones too heavy and almost had a heart attack.

I love the style of the drying rack! it fits the shaker style. And I quite like the way the colours are somewhat inverted from the other rooms ( same colours, but now the wood is an accent). And the fact that it is quite high is a bonus, now you can build yourself a nice little stool to step on, and paint it a nice colour ;)

I got a carpenter to put a wooden pole up for me in my bathroom with wooden supports and painted it the same colour as the walls and it is 4ft long and invaluable as a drying area - wouldn't be without it. Perfect and I use big black plastic pegs to dry some things outside on good days and have a plastic rack which hooks behind the door with ordinary pegs that I use for pillowcases. When the door is open to the bathroom this rack is suspended over the radiator. The robe and towel rack behind the door is perfect for drying.

As someone that lived for 32 yrs in the tropics that showers twice sometimes thrice a day, when i finally got to experience winter, it felt like my day had not started if i didn't shower first thing in the morning. its such an odd feeling moving about the day when i know i hadn't/didn't shower. it felt almost like a guilt. its the small things that I never even thought about that makes travelling to a new place more fun. its really funny, almost shocking seeing someone shower in dead snow even though i know the water is heated. I can't really imagine the coldness.

I also used to feel really 'off' if I wasn't able to shower for a day. I was a bit freaked out about it before I started hiking and realised I wouldn't be able to shower for days on end but I'd be getting really dirty regardless... but then at one point something switches, and it's like, you almost can't imagine what the big deal was!

Congratulations on passing 100k !! A drying room will be so useful and convenient. I love watching you finding solutions in your renovation and almost wish that I was 50years younger and could do something similar. FYI that little hallway was used a lot in older houses in Scandinavia (Norway and Sweden), mainly so that you could get into the house and close the front door without too much cold air or wind ( vindfang in Norwegian) into the rest of the house.

the drying rack is beautiful, I would have created a pulley system to raise it to the ceiling like you have it, when not needing to load it, and then lower it to add clothes to it at standing height. Then raise it again out of the way. I don't know how to do that, but I'm sure it can be done by such a skilled person you are, Rosie!
