Former Leafs bench boss Sheldon Keefe was unemployed for a grand total of two weeks. Join Nick Alberga & Jay Rosehill as they react to the news of Keefe heading to New Jersey to coach the Devils. Hey Nick, Jarnkrok was not injured and he got ZERO points in 7 PO games. The Leafs need PO performers Nick, you should know that by now.

The leafs need to be all in on saros whether that deal involves marner or not hes the best goalie available and hes capable of single handily winning games

Vejmelka is a very good goalie. Maybe he is worth a shot. I like Scott Wedgewood too. But, yes, they need a big goalie for sure.

"We're both ugly." Had me dying boys loved the pod as usual. Really looking forward to moving away from Marner. Between his attitude, performance in the playoffs not too mention his annoying parental unit it's not worth the drama. Also happy about Berube, he's going to do what Babcock tried to do only with less head trauma. lol

Scotty Bowman is the only coach in the modern era to win a cup with multiple teams. No other coach has done it, what I’m saying is, Keefe will do just fine with the Devils. They have a much better defence on paper. They’re a more balanced team. They just need a goalie.

I’ve been saying what you guys are saying about goaltending for 30 years.. we still haven’t replaced Belfour, that’s the reality of the situation in Toronto. When will management understand that you cannot win without a pitcher, quarterback, or goaltender. The people making the roster decisions for three decades are not very smart. I could build an NHL roster better the 90% of the GM’s. 🚫🧢

The first thing I would have done is incur serious debt to acquire a d-man that can play 35 a night and a goaltender that can give me 70.. day one. I would have been willing to pay what the casual would call is CRAZY. That’s the cost of business at the high rollers table.. get over it.

Have you ever heard of Corey Perry? I wouldn't trade Cowan but Perron on the 4th line and the powerplay for a decent aav doesn't sound that crazy.

Be real. Cowan is untouchable. Which doesn't mean no under any circumstances it means you'd better absolutely blow the doors off with your offer so that I actually *have* to listen. If someone's willing to lose the trade on assets we need, then shit yeah you look.

I don't really buy that Keefe took the fall for the players. The players definitely played their part in the failure, but so did he. Keefe takes an approach of the long-term balance and that everything balances out over the long stretch. Which works great in the regular season since 82 games is enough for any bad luck or bad play to work itself out. But not in the playoffs where you only have a 7 game series to work within. Keefe also overplayed his stars even if they didn't deserve it and they were often burned out by the third periods in games they needed to come back in. He should have success in NJ since in a lot of ways he's right. Playing your best players a lot will over a long season have benefits. And being a well-liked person with a really good regular season record should have gotten him a job pretty quickly.

When Brodie struggled all year what did Keefe do about it? Kept running him out over and over with the same result. What changes did he make to PP or offense in the post season to change results? The coach simply did not get the best out of the roster. They never brought their best play in the post season. They consistently played terribly against bad teams and nothing ever changed. No accountability. Played lazy with leads and consistently blew them. He deserved to be fired after Montreal series. They had entire playoff games the team didn’t even show up!! Should have been fired so many times for that.
