Seems like people forgot that the main character can’t use incantation-less healing magic as it was mentioned in season 1. He doesn’t have the imagination and understanding of healing so he has to resort to using the incantation.

Orsted collapsed his lungs cuz he is a mage, without his lungs he isnt able to do the incantations. then he found out he does incantationless magic. Rudy pushed air in his lungs, used air to push him back to get some distance and probably get out of Orsteds "antimagic" thing he used. Rudy CANT use incantationless healing magic, he needs to do incantations for healing. its the first time he actually made a full pointy rock attack, added tons of spin to it thats why it started "burning". the color change of the flames is the amount of air he mixed in to make it hotter and bigger thats why it changed color , it probably went over 7500K celcius. god damn this episode had me on my toes constantly. AWESOME episode. Orsted is terrifying.

NO SPOILERS just some notes Rudy can only use cast spells without incantation when its elementary magic because he has a great understanding of elements (Fire, wind, water, rock), but he can't do the same with healing magic because he doesn't really understands the healing process. When he got touched by Orsted his lungs were destroyed and thus Orsted was surprised he could use incantation-less magic and didn't heal his lungs. When he used wind magic in his mouth he was just trying to breathe in some way. Hitogami said that in a fight within the rank number 1 and Orsted, Orsted would win, that means he is literally the strongest being in this world. Apparently Orsted has many curses, one of which makes every living thing from this world either fear or hate him, but it seems that Nanahoshi is not affected by this just like Rudy Orstead killed Rudy, Nanahoshi somehow convinced him to spare his life and he healed him on the verge of death. There seems to be a confrontation between Orsted and Hitogami

13:43 for those that dont know fire changes color depending on the fuel that is used to create it and also changes depending on the heat for example natural gas is yellow but if its burned fast it turns blue the fire ball rudy is using gets hotter and hotter and it becomes the color of plasma

The 'Gods' in the Mushoku Tensei are quite vague. Gods that are the pinnacle of a race or a combat style. For example the 'Sword God' is the strongest swordsman in the Sword God Style school of swordsmanship. 'Demon God' Laplace because he was recognized as even greater than the 'Demon Emperor' Kishirika. Meaning the Demon Race acknowledged him as a God(btw I noticed that you didn't know Laplace, his name appeared frequently in the season. It shouldn't be a spoiler.) There were also other types of Gods, but that would be a spoiler so I won't say anything

This time the demon eye here is on the disadvantage because Rudy keeps seeing his future death and that what add to the panic that Rudy felt. And the last magic of Rudy was not a combination of magic but a highly compress flame equal to plasma and if Orsted didn't use the gate Rudy might have killed Eris and Ruijerd instead.

This is one of those moments in Mushoku Tensei I most feared Lee and Nasty would've gotten spoiled about. And everyone else. I really hope people get to see all this stuff blind, what with how much people want to spoil things everywhere(like twitter/et cetera).

Hmm, I just thought about something probably why Rudeus couldn't read the atmosphere was because he didn't feel hatred or scared. He had no clue what's going on. Ruijerd hated Orsted, and Eris was scared. Two different emotions yet applied to them as what human God said. In Ruijerd and Eris's perspectives they see Rudeus being dumb who can't read the room and it applies to us also. But in Rudeus's perspective it shows that he think Ruijerd and Eris are acting weird. As if they're the ones who's being stupid or sumthin, it makes more sense in my head. This is just my opinion tho.

Non spoiler, there something anime leave us If I remember correctly in the manga(yes I'm not reading LN), Rudy not only thinking about his promise with Eris, in his "final moment" he regreting not finding his mom and Eris family, hoping his maid reach Paul, hoping his sisters living the life he could'nt get, and his mom& Sylphy safety. It's pretty wholesome and sad, and that show how much he grow since season 1, I hope the anime show that but overall the anime is been great!

Not spoilers, but I have some reminders of things we already know and some interesting worldbuilding information that won’t be explained any more than it already has been. Rudy can’t actually cast healing magic without an incantation. He has basic scientific knowledge from his past life, so he knows the simple mechanics of how matter works and how to manipulate it and that’s mostly where his ability to cast without incantation comes from. He doesn’t have the same connection with healing. I can’t remember if it was explicitly stated in the show (if it was it would’ve been in the first 3 episodes or so) but if you pay attention he always says the incantation for healing spells. That’s why he couldn’t heal his lungs after Orsted destroyed them, but he was able to use magic to artificially make himself breathe. As for context with the dragons and the mountain pass they’re on, the Central continent that they’re on now is basically split into pieces by a massive mountain range with very few passes through. In fact, the pass they’re on is basically the only one leading from the Dragon King Kingdom (that they landed in after leaving Millis) to Asura, their home. One reason why the mountains are so difficult to cross is that they’re infested by those red dragons, which are incredibly territorial. That’s why, despite it being a massive detour, it’s their only way through. In fact, that’s how the conversation about the world powers initially gets brought up in the book. Its not just a matter of hunting the dragons, it would be impossible for anyone else to traverse the mountains in general without the pass. This was actually first mentioned very early on, because geographically, Shirone and the region of Asura that the gang is originally from are basically right next to each other, only separated by the mountain range. However, it’s still an incredibly long trip because you have to basically go all the way down to the southern coast of the continent to reach this pass and then come back up. That’s why Roxy was able to see the lights in the sky from the palace during the mana disaster. Speaking of that, I don’t know if you remember, but in that episode, when we got to see a bunch of people reacting to it, we actually saw Orsted for the first time having an encounter with a dragon (theoretically) as he is crossing the mountain range on foot.

Rudy can't heal without using incantations, as he can't picture it in his head. Did you all notice, that since Orsted damaged Rudy's lungs, making him unable to breathe or speak, Rudy used wind magic to force air into his lungs for oxygen? I was impressed.

I disagree with your thoughts about the 2 years Rudeus wanted. Maybe you are right but in my opinion, he promised to Eris that he will get her back to her home. We saw how determinate he was to do that in a previous episode. He didn't say explicitly the reason for why he wanted 2 more years. He does plenty pervy stuff all the time so i think it's not bad to look at this way for his last moment. ^^

Honestly from what we seen so far I do not think it would matter to Eris if she found out he was an older dude in younger body, to her he can do nothing wrong so she would probably not only nod and accept it but pick a fight with anyone that would not be cool with it.

Man, these dudes watch a lot of anime, so, I can see forgetting the number of times Laplace was brought up, and especially the fact that healing is the one magic Rudi has to do chants for. The Gods in this world are more like titles that are viewed in equal parts fear and awe, at least the ones known as the “7 Great Powers”. If you are the strongest in the world at what you do, or what you are, you are deemed the “God” of that certain thing, if you are the strongest demon for example, you would be labeled as the “Demon God”, or if you are the best swordsman of a particular style, you are deemed “xxx Style Sword God”. Rudy can’t use healing magic very well due to the fact he has very little knowledge on anatomy or biology, unlike physics or chemistry, which is what makes him talented at the other types of magic. It’s because of this knowledge that he can use incantation-less magic for certain types, since he has a deep and fundamental understanding of those things. Orsted first crushed Rudy’s lungs so that he wouldn’t cast any magic, upon seeing him use incantation-less magic to push air into his crushed lungs, he was confused as to why the first thing he didn’t do was just heal himself, as Orsted himself doesn’t quite know how magic and fundamental knowledge work hand-in-hand. When Rudy performed his omega beam, Orsted comments on how the sheer amount of magic being fired is on par with Laplace, which has been stated to be the Demon God, and the one that cursed the Sperds. It has been hinted throughout the anime that Rudy has a monstrous amount of mana.

Not just because of its animation, no, but because the audio design is continuously pushed to its fucking limits. Anyone who is able to hear the episode through headset can understand the dynamism in sound relative to the cut of the action, and the use of range and distortion to punctuate tension and resolution. ReZero team didn't settle for their best and went above and beyond.

I read the LNs after watching the first two seasons so I know its coming, but I am not sure if stuff THIS good will come in the first cour, or the second cour.. Either way guys, theres a little slow stuff coming, but after that there is AMAZING stuff coming that will blow the doors off imo.

if anyone is curious about technique god then major spoiler alert the 3rd generation dragon god, named demon dragon god fought the fighting god and got spilt into two the technique god and the demon god laplace. their memories and techniques also got spilt. laplace has the massive amount of mana but cant use aura( mana to cover one self and streagth the body thats used by close range combatants) and technique god has the knowledge of the 3 rd gen dragon god. but he doesnd have mana. their identities also god split and ambitions also got split. their intial goal was to kill human god but after splitting all laplace remembers is kill humans and all technique god remembers is kill god also 3rd gen dragon god was a genius amongst genius thats all the information we have on him from the original novel. their might be more in spin off but i do not know

The anime doesn’t explain this but Rudeus can’t use incantationless magic for healing and detox magic. He can use incantationless magic for elemental attack magic because he understands the natural principles associated with them. Since he doesn’t really have an understanding of how the body heals he needs the incantations (or at least that’s what he thinks).

Yall forgetting one thing, Rudy is not scared of him because he is from another world, so why didn't the girl with the Dragon God wasn't scared of the Dragon God too. She might be a reincarnated and realize the Rudy must be one.

Laplace name come from a french scientist of the 18th centurie, mostly known for "Laplace's Daemon" is work on determinism. Fun thing is in that show it would be more appropriate as a name for Orsted than Laplace Orsted come from a danish scientist.

Dragon God compared Rudeus' mana pool to Laplace, the Demon God, the one that was known to have the largest mana pool in the world before Rudeus, that was a big praise coming from him, he only lacks the technique and knowledge about magic to make it big, he only operates on the basics that he learned and his knowledge of modern physics and chemistry to improve basic spells, like the fire ball that turned purple, he pumped oxigen and hydrogen into it to make it burn much hotter and the basic stone bullet spell he used, that's a basic iniciant level spell, but rudeus made it MUCH denser made it aerodinamic and added spin to it combined to the drill shape making it incredibly deadly even for a basic spell, that actually managed to wound the Dragon God's hand as he was caught by surprise

Here's my thought, we were told that Orsted is hated by EVERY creature in the world, except for Rudius. Rudius isn't effected by the curse because he isn't from the world. If Nanahoshi is traveling with Orsted then it is reasonable that she isn't effected by the curse either. As far as we can tell, the only way this can be is if SHE is also from a different world. Maybe she put two and two together and realized that Rudius is from a different world also and that's what she was talking to Orsted. If this is the case, I have to think that maybe she is your stereotypical Issekai'd protag where they are trying to get back to their own world. She may think that Rudius and his strength could be of use to her in getting back some day? Maybe that's why she wants to keep him alive. Just spit-balling, could be totally wrong. The mask might prevent the curse from affecting her, no clue.

Something occurred to me about Orsted. How he knows them but hasn't met them yet. Just an idea, but maybe like the legend of Merlin, he lives in the past, present and future at the same time (or something like that).

I think that y'all would enjoy reading the light novels. They go into depth about what Rudeus is thinking in each moment much better than the anime has so far. The anime has also skipped some moments that explain things that y'all have thought about. In this reaction, you mentioned him not using the full extent of his power and talked about why he didn't. There was a skipped scene from the demon continent where he talked about that. Other than that y'all are real insightful into who Rudeus is as a person without having read the books which is honestly really impressive. Thanks for another great video.

The thing that caught my attention the most as anime only was the name "Nanahoshi" seems a weirdly japanese name tbh, nana=7 & hoshi=star. I honestly really appreciate how this anime handles Rudy's mental state at all times. As you guys mentioned he is basically incapable of reading the room and has a massive nonchalance towards death/threats toward his life. To me this is one of things that really shines in Mushoku Tensei, the depth of the mc is incredible. Most of the time he's an annoying pervert that really just can't keep his mouth shut at the most important times but then you remember it's not even really his fault, his experiences and feelings from his previous life properly transferred over unlike with a majority of other Isekai's where people can change pretty radically. As for the classic isekai OPness, it exists but it doesn't at the same time. Rudy isn't used to this world in the combat sense yet, in basically all the scenarios where our MC's got attacked suddenly Rudy never quite manages to react which makes sense since he's not used to any sort of fast paced combat. Thankfully the OPness comes in with his ridiculous mana reserves, incantation less casting and his demon eye but even with those elements which would normally render an MC OP, Rudy still isn't overwhelming by any means. Constantly facing enemies stronger then him who manage to injure or render him immobile actually lets us feel the tension in a serious fight and an actual fear of a character dying at some point which isn't very frequent in the usual isekai. I do really like how this episode played out. Normally I don't really like seeing what happens in the middle of the episode at the beginning but it was actually done pretty well imo. Showing that small snippet of Ruijerd VS Eris at the beginning of the episode shows us how far Eris has come and that Ruijerd still has a bunch of strength he isn't really using but almost immediately after we're shown how none of that matters, seeing Ruijerd try and fail to even scratch Orsted was amazing and the way he was dismantled in only a couple of hits despite having been probably the strongest character we've seen up until this point was utterly chilling. Sorry for the rant and if I repeated something previously mentioned, I just fanboyed a bit too hard over this episode

Most isekai or shounen anime in general are about the MC getting stronger and achieving a goal, Mushoku Tensei is about Rudeus getting a second chance at life and living it to the fullest with the people he gets to meet and love.

Rudy's form in the mind world isn't actually what his soul looks like, it's just what he sees himself as. Which is why he had that hole in him even though it was already healed.
