We use a Tubeline and a NH315 baler with hydraulic tension. I can see a few things you need to change or modify to make it go much smoother for you. I have a pan on the unroller to direct the hay into the header better. I can run alot faster. I have plans to build a conveyor to put between unroller and baler so I can have even more control over the feed into the baler. Also I would look into the DIY air bag tensioner set up for on your baler. It will make your bales much more consistent than the screws.

Nice operation but you need a dust mask your lungs won't get damaged

Great video man. Thanks for the explanation. We are looking to do the exact thing you doing. Get they hay off the field quick and easy with a round baler and then convert to small squares as we need it for customers. Only thing I’m worried about is quality. We bale some alfalfa but I was told it’s not a real big issue

I do the same thing I have the lx104 so I can do the way you do it or hook it on the 3 point and windrow the round bales out in the field then pick up with the kuhns as long as the ground is dry or frozen Much easier no dust and very little mess. I just did 200 bales people probably think I’m crazy but it gets done

BY hapinstance your video popped up, so being as we do basically the same thing I decided to have a look see......We have been rebaling year round for about 5 years......We My Son And I converted from row cropping cotton and peanuts to Hay only.........Our system uses a Simpson unroller feeding system feeding a 1840 Inline baler feeding a 5250T Bale Baron..... once the bundles exit the Baron they are loaded onto a 53ft enclosed semi trailer using a 5045E tractor/ loader and forks......36-21 bale bundles per load....for delivery to one of 6 contracted TSC stores

Just curious, what RPM are you running? We run a NH 575 which has the right pickup size but get banana bales if we run too fast and not enough hay feeding in (even with stuffer forks adjusted). Having to speed up my infeed and slow tractor down. Our's is a Tubeline, which is licensed to mfg the original version of the Hustler.

That’s the reason I have that 2x6 slid up in the pressure bar. It helped that a lot.

This is what we are looking into doing next. How do you like re baling? Vs doing small squares right off the bat?

Square Baling in the field is more labor intensive to accomplish, even with the different "Bunch" handling equip..... Square bales are from the exit of the baler are subject to weather damage, whereas once rolled rounds are not,,,,

With one person operating the whole operation it’s hard. With two people you can make some nice square bricks

Great vid, thank you for posting. Do you use the MF271 for any hay field work. Was curious if the 271 has noisy brakes? I have a 271 that I use for all my hay work, ssb’s. Brakes on the 271 work great, but are noisy.

It’s used often. That tractor does all of the raking and runs the tedder. The brakes are very noisy but they are dry brakes so to be expected

@@haybroke I purchased a 271 from my neighbors estate sale a few years ago. It’s used to cut, ted and bale small squares for horse people. I paid a premium for the tractor in that it just had 200 hours on it, like a new tractor. You can beat a Perkins, runs like a champ. But the brakes take some getting used to……. Have a great summer.

Do the small square bales sell better?Why don't you feed the finds to the animals.Seems they would be easyer ti diegest?

Wouldn't make more sense to just have baled with small rectangle baler baler to start with not everyone need the large round bales
@brianandreasen1536
@brianandreasen1536 Жыл бұрын
Hi I don't understand why you don't just make the small square bales from the start, it must cost a small fortune to have a round bale press and the thing you have in front of the small press
@kmac6399
@kmac6399 Жыл бұрын
It's a lot faster when you only have a short weather window to make hay you can round bale and pick up the bales with minimal manual labor in a short time. Then they can rebale it into square bales inside a building at any time. Square bales sell for a premium but it's hard to find anyone that wants to work in the field throwing bales anymore

Your obviously not afraid of a bit of hard work, but for gods sake wear a dust mask, have you never heard of farmers lung? You will need a transplant in a few years.
