Nice simple system, that works both in the field and stationary, without enormous cost.....In April of this year we swapped out to a complete new system..... that also can be used both ways....but we chose to use it stationary.....It improved our load capacity and reduced time needed

take 4 - 7' long pieces of 1-1/2" metal pipe. weld bolt on sticking out to grab the bales and a sprocket on one end. using a chain and a small motor to drive it(garage door opener), that should get them out. punch door remote when needed.

I noticed you set the round bale up opposite of the way it would naturally unroll.. looks like the unroller wants to pull off the bottom, but you set the bale to unroll from the top... Does that give you better control?
@DLHFarms

Yep I tried it the other way and it was coming apart to fast for the baler. I found turning it the wrong way gave me more control.

Hey, after rebaling these last few years would you say it's overall worth it? I'm debating if it might be worth it for us to only do rounds and big squares during the summer months and then only rebale into small squares in the winter. We do landscape work in the summer, which is arguably more profitable... The idea would be to have work for our guys in the slow winter months...
@DLHFarms

If you have guys you need to keep busy it will work fine. If you try to rebale yourself you won’t like it.

If you start breaking a lot of shear pins, check the bushing the pin goes in. They can wear and develop a little slop and shear the pins easily.

That worked pretty good, but I remember a video you made rebaling hay, and it seems to do a better job with the hay. Probably because the straw is short and loose. Either way, it's still better than feeding the baler by hand!

Ive done this before......not using the same equipment but re-baled hay and straw into small squares. Too much expense !!!!! Not to mention inhaling the dust inside a building. ( Lungs are expensive ! ). I wouldnt do it for 30.00 dollars a bale ! Instead I bought a 4x4 round baler. When farmers can buy hay or straw for 1/10 the price they jump all over it ! Cut the size of the bale to 2ft. x 4ft. You can handle them with ease.....or roll them. If those are too big.....can always cut them in half using a chain saw. No re-baling

I’ve been waiting to see this vid ever since you teased us with it in another vid 😁. That’s basically the set up I was gonna do but put a Tedder between unroller and baler to fluff the hay/straw before the pickup catches it. What are the bales like? Odd lengths? Bananas? Cheers 😁

There are some odd lengths sometimes. Feeding consistently helps keep that from happening but it’s hard to do.

@@DLHFarms yeah, we tried with rolling them out in a field to re bale. Had every kind of bale known to man!🤦🏻‍♂️ And it ate shear bolts for fun😭. That’s why I wondered if something to fluff it up like a Tedder before the stuffer fingers might help🤔🤷‍♂️
