As always Papa, a super video, and yes the new Microphone was excellent. My first thought is that this is TW's first shot across the bow of the Professional top names in the industry and it is simply incredible. Imagine for $22 how this must be shaking up some corporate exec offices as we speak, and I'm betting TW is already back at the drawing boards figuring out how to dominate this market! Who would have ever imagined TW replacing 3D in its first attempt? Wow. Never in a million years or at least until Dec 2020 😂. Amazing job TW. My comments: 1) For me the wipe-off is a nit-picking issue because if 3D hasn't improved their wipe off, well it's gotta tell all of us something. 2) I'm still amazed how with 3 passes you're literally 1 and Done (a little pun there) and you're moving on to the next pad if needed, like you said, you ended up using only the Black pad for the rest of the FIT, on a hammered paint job to incredible clarity with one pad, impressive 🥳. 3) The finishing of 1 and Done is awesome and with so little product. 4) A damp microfiber. Great job Papa Smurf 👍

Also I have done my own rattle can paint jobs on small areas, well I say small I did both driver's side doors the applied 4 coats of 2k Spray Max clear on them. So anything found like the "super glue spots" can be fixed. And if I had a nice garage like you I would have a blast. I have to do my car in the Texas heat under my metal carport on concrete driveway,but I get er done, just wait for bear ideal conditions.

I'm 2yrs late, but the damp towel tip I will definitely keep in my toolbox. I tried 1&Done for the first time on my black 2018 Ford Explorer Sport and left a haze using a PC DA and Lake Country orange light cut pad. Switched to a black Lake Country finishing pad and still got a slight haze and that's when I started to freak out. Ended up using 3D AAT 502 with a black finishing pad to get rid of the haze. It was a lot of work for a fairly big suv but overall the 1&Done did a pretty good job bringing out the gloss.

Yo Pops! I'm re-watching this vid after recently doing a similar job on my buddy's blue '14 Prius. It was in as bad shape [or worse - no lie!] as your Honda here. Thankfully the paint on the Toyo is not NEARLY as soft as that Honda! I 2x Max-Power foam gun/hand washed and claybarred forever. I tackled it with the Uro 50-50 and the One and Done Compund [love the work time.] Results were fee-nominal! Yes...damp cloth with TW products [compound included] seems to be the magic Unicorn. I topped with the Seal&Shine tough stuff - didn't look like the same car. I produced a "short" of the results @ Audie Conrad. Keep up the gr8 work Pops! Shine on you crazy diamonds!

I’m not much of a turtle wax guy. I mostly use the Rupes polishes and Somax perfect finish. But I want to try this stuff depending on price also the audio sounds good. You can get a Rode mic. That would bring the audio to another level. Also a little trick I learned. Put one line of tape down. Work the machine close but not touching the tape. Then after polishing put another strip of tape next to your first on the polish side then take off the first tape if that makes sense. For your 50/50 with out touching the tape.

Hey there! So, I'm not sure superclean would be what I'd use for sap... you can try a 10:1 ratio and see if that helps. 5:1 would be the strongest I'd go.. if there is any protection on the vehicle it will be degraded and most likely need to be applied again. 👍👍 I use Malco S.A.P. Clear coats have used hardeners for 30+ years, not sure how that is an argument. Historically clear coats were petroleum-based and now they are water-based so the new clears are thinner and softer in general. Having soft or hard clear can easily be seen between car manufacturers and does not take a rocket scientist to figure it out. Look at Apex, Miranda, FAB, and many other detailers that comment on soft clear or hard clear, it is not some made-up thing. Go to a body shop and ask a good painter, they can explain it to you.

Jose, this compared to the acrylic black polish there are a few differences.. the one and done is not an AIO ( all in one ) so it does not offer protection.. there are no acrylics in 1 and done and it doesn't have filling capabilities like the black polish. So I'd definitely use one and done first then polish with black polish.. granted you on a black car. But, keep in mind AIO type products are not the most durable.. if your not relying in the filling capabilities of the acrylic black polish I'd opt for 1 and done topped with Max wax, topped with Flex... Do you think the Maxshine M8S Dual Action is good enough, or your Maxshine M21 Pro DA is preffered. I also have a boat I want to detail along with our cars, total amatuer here.
@PapaSmurf918Detail
@PapaSmurf918Detail 2 жыл бұрын
Ben, that's a tough one. The m8s would prob be ok for a beginner for a vehicle. Now the boat would definitely opt for a 21mm of some sort.. people usually prefer a rotory but I haven't gone that route yet.. usually due to the gel coat being very hard. But a 21mm would work just may need more passes. I know that Maxshine is coming out with a new M8s which looks promising! Hope that helped. If you need anything else , don't ge afraid to ask my friend! 👍🤜🤛🤝

@@benc1927 Yeah, the makita would be ideal for the boat... but 21mm would be good for both. Look at the Shinemate ex620 21mm from CarzillaAutoCare... that's where I got my Shinemate 👍👍

I used the One and Done yesterday on my car; using the 50/50 microfiber pad first (4 dots on the pad) and then used the black foam pad (4 dots on the pad). I tapped the pad over the area to be done, started the machine out at a 1 speed (using a Porter Cable machine) and then switched to 4 speed in a cross hatch; doing this way with the 50/50 pad. Then when using the black foam pad, I also tapped the pad over the area, started out with a 1 speed to spread, then changed to a 3 speed in a cross hatch. I noticed that with each pad and application, it was harder and longer to remove the compound; I had to use all three microfiber towels; and it wasn’t very translucent. What did I do wrong?
@PapaSmurf918Detail
@PapaSmurf918Detail 3 жыл бұрын
Paul, that's weird you found removing got worse as you went on. 🤔 so with the urofiber I like to use 3 pea size drops cause they tend to get clogged quickly.. with wipe off the longer you leave it seems to be a little tough. I find wipe off immediately and use a damp microfiber towel works awesome.
@wrightvideos2011
@wrightvideos2011 3 жыл бұрын
I have seen a few people mention using a damp microfiber towel with the One and Done (I will certainly try it). But what’s interesting is that the bottle doesn’t mention it to do this; it says to use the damp towel when using the other two bottles in the kit. I was thinking about using the damp towel, but part of me is concerned about it diminishing what the one and done is suppose to do.
@PapaSmurf918Detail
@PapaSmurf918Detail 3 жыл бұрын
Paul, I know its weird but keep in mind 1 and done is strictly for correction.. no fillers, or protection in it. Water will not really have any I'll effect on it👍 dry towel first.. damp towel, then dry.. seemed to be the trick for me. Also, don't use to much product either..
@wrightvideos2011
@wrightvideos2011 3 жыл бұрын
And unless there is some major cut needed, don’t use the 50/50 pad and the yellow pad? Start off with the orange and finish with the black pad? Don’t know if it’ll help, but I have a 2007 Black Pontiac G6.
@PapaSmurf918Detail
@PapaSmurf918Detail 3 жыл бұрын
Paul, yes your correct if your working with light defects also depending on the hardness of the clear usually a medium cut foam pad with be great.. harder clear you may need to up it to the uro pad or microfiber. Then finish with the black👍

@PapaSmurf918Detail

I stuck to 4-4.5 mainly. I tried 3.5 to see if it would help with that hazing issue but nope. I think my issue was the 21mm throw was a bit aggressive for the soft paint. My G9 9mm would have helped me in this situation I feel.. but hey! I learn so much each time I detail 👍 that's what it's about! Appreciate you watching!
