@@henrymarks1632 Yes, it did have 27 million views when I commented. How could that number decrease by 1 million? Something funny going on here with your view counts, KZfaq.
@AkatsukiAyano
@AkatsukiAyano 2 жыл бұрын
@@Docjonel KZfaq doesn't recalculate viewer count every single time someone loads the page; it often provides an estimate based on the view rate per time for the past while, so if there's an exceptionally good time period for a video, it may overestimate view count. This is why view count sometimes jumps around and decreases, but I'm also simplifying the explanation by a lot. You can check Tom Scott's channel to see a better explanation about it.

Quick little fix for anyone struggling with the array modifier at 12:10: Put array modifier, go to object tab hit apply and then "All transforms" this should move the claws back to their respective positions, then go to your modifier tab again and make sure relative offset X is set to 0.

You can keep both! In the IK settings, you should see a setting that lets you define the lenth of the IK chain. Set it to include everything except the bone at the base of the rig (which really shouldn't be moving with IK anyway). You can set a pole target and the IK chain will respond to it, but the bone at the base of the rig does not.

I tried out some extra control by having two IK chains, the top IK (Nearest the claw) controlled the top 30 bones and then another that controlled the bottom 10. Then the bottom IK is a child of the chest piece with a .8 influence so it picks up some of the animation but still looks offset. It did add a little more control, but the chain wasn't as nice and smooth as it was when it was one complete IK. Hope this made sense!

Holy. Crap. The quality of this tutorial is insane. The overlay of the short-cuts AND what they do is something that is not done very often but is EXTREMELY useful. The explanations of what you want to do with how to do it and WHY it works the way it does is extremely helpful (speficially at 14:13 when you explain how to attach the arm to the torso). Your explanations are short and concise and are as complex as they need to be... I'm insanely impressed by these videos and I am now inspired to start doing some 3d art!

You know your video is well made when someone who doesn’t have ANY knowledge on Blender, or 3D modelling as a whole watches the whole thing, and actually learns from it. Never touched blender in my life, but I feel this was incredibly thorough. I was entertained and impressed the whole time. Spectacular work dude.

This is a pretty rad tutorial, lots of nifty tips and tricks would never have thought of, the only solution I can really think of for your IK glitching issue is to use a spline IK instead of a regular one. You'd have to have more controllers, at least three rather than two, I'd say, but it would allow you to bend and rotate the arm freely without worrying about the arm suddenly switching direction on you.

thats super cool! setting up drivers/constraints for the claws, so when you scale it it opens/closes would be the next step. you could have it locked for each location, so you have 6 individual controls for each claw even. Super cool and simple, love it!

I would add an extra bone at the end, then use copy transform constraint to the claw. No drivers needed
